My favourite WoTR units based on how they look are galadhrim and uruk-hai, all ranked up into nice big armies

I'm a big fan of seeing a 6 company strong formation of ghostly green Army of the Dead shadow striding across the board...

I'd say a huge formation of about 10 Mumaks, each loaded with 12 Haradrim archers. That would look pretty mint...

The White Company.

Rangers are overall my favourite out of the range. The box makes great looking dynamic units. I really must consider getting that battlehost's worth sooner, rather than later.

Do you mean the grey company?

The White Company are a Gondor Legendary formation, led by Hurin; I think they guard the gates of Minas Tirith.

They are the Prince of Ithilien's bodyguard, in the Fourth Age.

Ah, yes.

Beregond is the Captain, right?

But they don't even have rules so how can they be the coolest looking WotR unit? Unless you mean the Wardens of the Keys as they're called but they haven't come out yet.

Yes, that's the one General Elessar, Beregond is the Captain.

Spuds4eva, I generally field them either as Rangers or Grey Company (usually Rangers) in my Ithilien army. What? That's not a WOTR army either? :-D

There's more to a hobby than following the pictures in a rulebook.

Look here for Beregond and a mention of the White Company: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beregond_and_Bergil

Though as you say Xelee, there is more to the game than the pictures and rulebook (my gondor army is from Lebennin and wears green!), it would still be nice to add a bit more context and description for a unit not mentioned in the book in this kind of thread.
Though of course a bit of googling answered my particular questions on the white company so it's not hard to find things out...

EDIT: put in the correct link...

I know, but I thought perhaps you would maybe post some pictures as not all of us have seen pictures of proxies for units that haven't been released yet.

Well, if you like, the one set of (blurry, for size reasons) pictures I do have of them are in my Batrep thread. I like them so much that I always make a point of fielding them, even though they are perhaps not the best use of points in-game.

I'm sure others might interpret them differently. I think there is possibly a good case for using Citadel Guard models, but I happen to like the Ranger ones. Given those models are used for a wide array of Rangers, including Blackroot Vale archers, I'd say that they are what the GW guys would likely have had in mind for the White Company too.
