Wow, that's a heck of a lot of blister packs you got their. I've only bought half that number of blister packs over the last 6 years...

Have fun with those spiders, they are an absoloute joy to paint, and repositioning their legs is quite easy.

You have more blister packs than I have models it would seem. I am jealous.

Thanks all, Those blisters seemed to have brought attention to the thread heh.

Ok. A new meaning for speed painting, in a certain manner. 4 Orc Archers done in less than 20 minutes. No they are not brilliant, but they were a mess before, and they look better already. Once I have redone everything, base wise and repaints, I will go back again to quick jobs like these and finish them off to a better standard, but for now - this will suffice...

Image

Now just to show you why I wanted to redo the bases in the first place...

Before:

Image

Image

After:

Image

You can see what difference it makes whilst in the WoTR trays, thats for sure!

So there are the 7 riders (4 in trays, 3 behind on the hill) which I have been doing quickly. Those 6 knights of Minas Tirith are next on the list, alongside 5 more metal comrades and a banner bearer, enough to make a 6 company formation of knights in WoTR...More of them later on...

And finally, these annoying guards, where I cannot get to much of the base due to their annoying pose and giant cloaks...

(yay, i beheaded them all ;))

Image

Thanks all

C&C as per normal..

James

Very nice, they look great. I always like my gondor, and 4 archers in 20mins is pretty good. 8)

Yar, I found him wrapped in bubble wrap and foam padding a few days back, already painted, that white mist along the bottom is actually super glue, but it added an ethreal touch so i left it.

Nice work mate! The orks look pretty good also judging that picture, for 20min of painting.
I also admire you for not opening any of the blisters yet :p I mean, whenever I get some new stuff I open it almost immediately, even when I know I can't use it for a while, I still need to look at the mini or sprues..

Firstly, I've been having a look around your medical records (being the incredibly sneaky FBI agent I am) and found you are allergic to pewter....too much exposure to it will result in a painful, chalky rash, followed by loss of fingers and/or limbs from further contact.

So the OBVIOUS solution is to send ALL those blisters to me for.....safekeeping.

...................

OK then, lose your fingers! :-X

Nice work on the archers, although I'd suggest a slightly lighter drybrush on the gravel. Glad to see some updates here, it's been....*counts on fingers*, well, too long since it was updated!

Hey Anduril, I think you have the opposite problem, you grow fingers when they come in contact whith pewter. Proven by the fact that you can count on your fingers how long it's been since it was last updated, the only thing to do is ship off all your blisters to ME.
And I don't mean the ones off your hands!
Corsair, nice to see you posting again. I think that the orcs are great for speed painting, and the new bases are definitely a vast improvement, keep up the good work. :yay:

Thanks chaps!

The reason there is no further drybrush is to make them blend well with the wotr trays, and another lighter brush would make them too light.

=D

Captain of the Dead.

Image

His banner and the other 2 spectres will also fit into the army of the dead regiment somewhere in a rank to boost numbers and add variation. They will follow soon.

Nice work on the cloth and armour. IMO the face could be a bit lighter though to give a contrast between the two areas.
