well i recently thought of making a list made up of 6 formations containing 9c, now if it was battle for the pass and i make a wall with them, there wont be much room to have any of them turn sideways. so if i charge a unit that is at an angle, but cant angle myself to them, do they angle to me or can i not charge at all?

Shadowswarm nrbh but I am pretty sure that there is no requirement for units to 'conform' in this game. Being angled will mean only one coy fights as in contact, but in your case I'd imagine you will be leaning on that +2 supporting dice.

Take that with a grain of salt for now, I'll check it tonight - unless someone with a book handy does it before then.

Page 43 5) Move Spearhead says that the company has to end up in full base contact (edges touching, not a corner) or return to where it came from resulting in no-charge. If a formation charges it will be pulled from your line, so unless you are really unlucky or do not plan during the move phase, this is unlikely to happen. You could form deeper to allow for some maneuvreing room.

my thoughts were if it was battle for the pass... even if they were line up side by side they cannt really maneuver cause they will be so long....

... which would also happen in real life. Anyway, you opponant will set up facing you, so you won't be hitting him corner on anyway.

Your lead formation(s) will still get a charge off. It will just be case that either some of the chargers end up blocking others (due to the requirement that you get as many in contact as possible per formation) or the enemy will have angled to prevent that and you will end up with some almost corner contacts being the charges. It will be very difficult (I would say impossible) to prevent at least one charge going in by angling units - since full conforms are not necessary. They can 'checker-board' to prevent you charging missile/spell-caster units though.
