Decided to (try to) create a fiefdoms army. Was thinking something like this:

Prince Imrahil w/armoured horse and lance 155 pts
6 Knights of Dol Amroth w/armoured horse and lance 95 pts
11 Knights of Dol Amroth 99 pts
9 Clansmen of Lamedon 72 pts
10 Rangers of Gondor 80 pts

501 pts

If you give your rangers spears they can support the foot knights, keep them alive longer.

so something like:

Prince Imrahil w/armoured horse and lance 155 pts
6 Knights of Dol Amroth w/armoured horse and lance 95 pts
10 Knights of Dol Amroth 90 pts
9 Clansmen of Lamedon 72 pts
10 Rangers of Gondor w/spears 80 pts

502 pts

10 Bows
3 might
36 warriors

I like that list. It's thematic and from a gaming point of view there's no weakness, apart from the inevitable lack of numbers.

Thematic and pretty solid but I would say you need someone to lead your infantry because when your army breaks (which won't take long, no offence) you will need someone to keep those guys from running even with Imrahil's 12" standfast (he could be dead by then, though as insane kill-charge heroes tend to end up over-whelmed). To play on the safe side, I would probably swap Imrahil out for a captain on an armoured horse with a lance and Forlong (or Angbor if you want to keep it thematic) and you'll still have some points left over with which I would get some MaAoDA. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm, so either

Prince Imrahil w/armoured horse and lance 155 pts
6 Knights of Dol Amroth w/armoured horse and lance 114 pts
9 Knights of Dol Amroth 81 pts
8 Clansmen of Lamedon 64 pts
10 Rangers of Gondor w/spears 90 pts

504 pts

or

Captain of Dol Amroth w/lance and armoured horse 75 pts
6 Knights of Dol Amroth w/armoured horse and lance 114
Angbor the fearless 55 pts
9 knights of Dol Amroth 81 pts
11 Clansmen of Lamedon 88 pts
10 Rangers of Gondor w/spears 90 pts

503 pts

Well the second one have better numbers, a hero to lead both the infantry and the calvalry. Still it´s tempting to field Imrahil...

Yeah, it always is tempting to field the "power heroes" but often best done at >600 points.

Yep, have to agree with spuds on that, to use major heroes like Imrahil you need to be above 600 or even 700 points.

BTW, your Rangers w/spear are 90 points, not 80.

Imrahil is expensive, especially at 500pts, but in my opinion his "banner" Special Rule makes him a worthwhile investement. That's why he's pretty much the only uber-hero I field at that points level.

You should try Farlong the Fat whit horse instead of the captain of dol Amroth. Its 5 pts cheaper and much better.

In keeping with the theme, why not Blackroot Vale archers instead of Gondor Rangers? The sculpts are the same I know but what is the points/profile difference?
