To be totally honest mate I can't see anything wrong with it. I like the use of red on the clothing. 8)

In comparison to Berserker it look rushed. Rought paint layers and transition between colours low care for detail etc. Maybe it's just the photo but IMO Boromir lacks quality you put into other minis. The contrast (ergo shadows) are almost non existent, that directly affects perception of your work.

i took another picture - it still not like the real one of course.. the previous one had no flash, this one has it. But the real mini itself might be something inbetween. I noticed that with flash he has almost a black spot in his hair. Wich isn't even visible when i look at it normally.

might be right that there is not enough variation in the cloak. I might have layered the black to thick.

Ah this picture is a lot better.
I've added some comments to the photo.
Image
(I now see some very stupid spelling mistakes, sorry for that)

Might sound a bit harsh but I think this is the best way to improve boromir, so don't let my comments discourage you.
On the bright side, I love the neat gold trim. (Can't do that anymore myself as my hands shake to much and i can't control my fingers for that kind of fidly stuff.)
Looking forward to the next update. 8)

Ty for putting an effort in that. So it comes to more highlighting; The bubbles might be caus i might have stripped him badly (2nd handed figure).
I don't paint the sand of my figures. I like the natural colour. I wanted to keep the base simple for him caus i think he doesn't need a base with much stuff on it. His robes fill up alot. For the skin (i use rotting flesh (only flesh i have) with a layer of beastial brown). Maybe i should mix up some paints to improve it.

Nope haven't got any time to paint yet. Good news got myself some Riders of rohan , Orcs and Gothmog (bought them for a very good price on Facts). There was more but i want to get everything painted someday :p Also got some of those artistic cards or something.

My gf painted this at gw some weeks ago. I did some final touches with gold. Painted the eyes and turned the white spot she accidently made into a horse.
I don't have the colours or the snow myself. I think she did really good for her first time with a black basecoat. I let her try out a white basecoat once at home but she never finished that one of. So i think we can call it her first finished mini. :)

Oh yes, the white is because of my stupid varnish. It 's less visible in real tough. Still hate it being there...
I ll add some long grass when i got the time...

Its a little bit messy. You should use less black drybush, and more washes.
