hello I am currently building 2 main battle fields minas tirith & helms deep. I am fimiliar with lanscaping & making my own buildings & lanscape parts, hills walls rocks with styrofoam & so forth. right now I am trying to build the siege tower from the battle of minsa tirith

I plan to use Balsa wood strips & if worse come to worse popsickle sticks. I'd like it to have moving weels & a real working draw bridge & two levels inside for moving orcs onto the wall because & i have the wall set for minas tirith.

does anyone have a plans they can post or a model them self's they can post as a reffrence ?

Once I made an orc boat, the door worked perfect. The secret is that you have to size it a little thight. https://picasaweb.google.com/112456808824539717337/OsgiliathiRomokOsgiliathRuins

For the weels, well, it is not so hard. Maybe you should use there some plastic to, cause the wood is not so smooth.

There's an article about building a siege tower in The Siege of Gondor Sourcebook, with a simple but accurate discription on building one(in foamboard) I hope you can find it online somewhere!

I've got the Warhammer Siege Tower still on the sprue waiting to be assembled. I could measure some of the parts/take some photos of it if you want some inspiration from that. I need to do the measurements some time anyway so I can make some more without buying another.

yes that's about right I decided to go with with balsa wood because it can be cut into strips & sanded for wheathering & the look of mini wood planks. I have the warhammer wall set that can also be used for minas tirith. just like the siege led by GothMog (love that guy!) the siege towers are to be tall enough for scale & a few levels inside for moving units.

but like the picture above I like the look of make-shift craftmenship because it has to look like orc actually built the thing. I will be starting soon & everything here has been a great sorce of help.
