I'm getting one big miniature for my birthday (gorgoroth beast/watcher/cave drake/dragon), but I just can't decide which one to choose!
So what do you guise think? Which one is the tactically and competitively the best in your opinion? And off course which model do you like the best.

I like the dragon the best. Not only is it adaptable as you can add 50 or 100 points in a variety of ways but it is also the best looking model in my opinion. From a competitive angle I would say that they are all ok but the watcher and gorgoth beast have yet to be fully tested so who knows? Of course this all depends on what your army is. Gorgoroth beast wouldn't fit well thematically with goblins for example.

For me, it would depend on what I already have in my collection. What is your main army?

Well, seeing as your main army is dwarves, none of those! :P
Honestly I would agree that the dragon is probably the best game-wise, though the watcher is really an unknown at this point.....

Looks-wise I would say the dragon is my least favourite of the bunch, though it's your opinion that matters. :)

Choose the monster that corresponds to your favorite army or to an army you currently use the most, if possible. This will ensure most play time. From my own personal experience, I enjoy playing with Mumaks.

I prefer a la Great Beast, however the chnces of you getting a decent cast are pretty sliim unless you wait a few months for them to sort out their problems. So if you don't feel like taking the risk or waiting, I'd say go for the Cave Drake, it's a very nice model.

well guys, thanks for all the reactions. It seems like the dragon is in the highest vote, and he does seem pretty strong (even though the model is ugly).
has enyone play tested the watcher or the gorgoroth beast? Cous I'd be interested in hearing the results.
still not exactly sure: the dragon has the highest vote and look competetive, the drake and the watcher are the coolest models but the gorgoroth best would fit
the best in my Mordor army... Through some more facts at me guys :D

The most common monsters to be found in the top GT armies are Fell Beasts, Spider Queens, and Dragons. That may help you decide. :)

Take what looks best to you. You won't enjoy using an ugly model, even if it performs better on the table. (And you don't seem to be too hung up on powergaming, seeing as you are planning on using an eagle....)

Dragons and cave drakes were very competative this year at UKGT
A total fellbeast army won over all.

I love drakons and drakes as in my view they are more elegant than feelbeasts and rhinos but with good rules (unlike eagles)

my advice

1. don't use a model you don't like the look of
2. if someone is buying the figure for you then choose whatever, but if people give you money and you buy it then watch out for the price, as some big models can be really expensive.

have fun painting it and i hope whatever you get wins you many battles in the future
