Ok so for all, of you that are interested i thought id post up a brief and not too detailed acceount of my battle with this army!
My opponents list (roughly) :
Suladan mtd
Mumakil (12 haradrim archers)
12 haradrim raiders
2 chieftains
12 haradrim warriors with spears
Ok so the scenario was a simple made up one - 4x4 board.
We deployed in opposite corners within a 14" radius. Separating us was a large hill, in the middle of the hill there was a tiny marble represnting a palantir. In the centre there was ruins of osgiliath with a MoMtomb in its centre and behind that there was a MoM well. The objectives were to retrieve the palantir and bring it into base contact with the well, whoever had the most models within 6" of the tomb by turn 25 and if you killed your opponents leader (suladan and the Undying).
First Turn- my opponent had Priority, he began moving his raiders and half his infantry towards the ruins while his mumak and some infantry made staright towards the gap between the hill and the boards edge, towards my army.
My move- Morgul Knights, Black Guard, Ringwraiths and half the orcs moved towards the ruins with surprising speed. The spider queen went sta=raight to the base of the hill and spawned a broodling which retrieved the palantir in the first turn.
The B.N moved up towards the hill in cas th S.Q needed support.
My priority- S.Q charged the Mumak intent on keeping him imobilised for as long as possible away from the main part of my army. This tactic proved very well, even though the S.Q constantly got swarmed by supporting haradrim, her superior Fight value insured a win nearly every time, even wounding the Mumak occasionally. So with one stroke i wiped out my opponents deadliest threat... a charging Mumak.
The Broodling moved on up towards the well, staying clear of othe models not wanting to get caught in combat. I decided to keep her safe until my infantry cleaned up the opposition. My vollying trackers managed to kill about half of the raiders before they even got to combat, my luck was good.
The archers on the mumak were a real pest, for the firsy 8 or so turns i lost no models to combat, those pesky archers managed to wipee out half of my supporting orcs and bring my vollying to a standstill. I formed a battleline between the hill and the ruins with my black guards B.N and orcs which made easy meat of any haradrim stupid enought to challenge the greatest of all Saurons warriors! The only problem was this left a lot of loose mounts lying about in the way
I managed to secure both the ruins and the well with my morgul knights and B.G. and the raiders mostly failing to pass their terror test gaveme the upper hand while charging with lances even without priority. The battle was really going in my favor.
After many turns the corageous deeds of the S.Q failed and the Mumak ploughed on coming at my battle line from the rear. But at this stage i had most of the hardrim to my front cleared up which gave me space to maneuvre myself into a new battle line.
The Well being secured by my Morgul Knights gave my broodling (which happily had slipped under my opponents reaider for awhile) the chance to score me the first objective
By now the battle was all but won, the palantir already secured, the ruins crammed with heavily armoured warriors and the Haradrim scattered and few.
The only threat was the mumak which did give me a few casualties but the look on my opponents face was priceless when it failed iots wound courage test and turned around to charge its own warriors
And from here the battle gets boring my warriors swarming what remained of the pitiful haradrim. We decided to finish up about 5 turns early because by now there was no chance at all for the haradrim.
Victory............. MORDOR!!
Any thoughts?
