Why do you call them Last Alliance Orcs? Both metal and plastic ones can count as second age or third age orcs, but why not call them 'Metal Orcs' or 'Second Age Orcs', as Orcs never had a 'Last Alliance'.

At the time of their release, the only Orcs we'd seen were during the Last Alliance scenes in Fellowship. All the rest were Moria Goblins or Uruk scouts.

Then why not 2nd Age Orcs, since Orcs weren't part of the Last Alliance. Though I kind of get what you're getting at now.

I always just called them metal Orcs, I didn't hear the term "Last Alliance Orcs" until this thread. I was lucky enough to get 9 warriors and 6 archers, but I never had the funds to get all of them. :roll:

I have 2 of the archers and that is all. I used to have 3, but someone in the old GW (ie the one before they moved it) stole one and I don't know who.

That's lame, man. I have one drawing an arrow and the buck-toothed one with fur on his shoulders up for trade if anyone needs. They are painted, pretty poorly as I've had them probably close to ten years...

I probably don't have anything you want in exchange, and I'd only do international trade if I wanted quite a quantity, which I do, but have little if anything you might want. I really do want some though. i want a few other archers, a few of each of the ones with two-handed weapons, and a couple of the ones with shields, especially the one with the cloak and mace with one foot in the air. but never mind, I am resigned to the fact that I will probably never get them.

Does GW still sell the kings of men anymore? I just got two of them for my birthday yesterday, and don't remember seeing them on their site in a while.

They stopped selling Kings of Men ages ago.

But some are an easy find on ebay/similar.

Okay, thanks. That's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure.

So, I've got another question. What do people search on ebay when looking for lotr models? I usually just search something like "the lord of the rings", or a specific name, but I can't seem to find much of anything. I did happen to find the Helms Deep Haldir with a bow, and the two mordor orc captains that GW don't sell any more(the one with the Gondorian armor, and the one that went with it) and managed to buy all three of them. The orcs were kind of cheap, but the shipping cost as much as the models if not more, but Haldir was just a couple of dollars including shipping which made me very happy. So if someone could help with that I'd appreciate it.

If you want to find a specific model on ebay try the name of the model and related searches.

Eg for Durburz you could try; Durburz, Goblin King, Goblin, King of Moria, Durburz Goblin, Goblin Leader, metal Goblin etc

Why do people seem to prefer the Captain with MT armour? The "one that went with it" looks much better.

I agree, it reminds me of one of the old Fellowship-range metal Mordor Orcs.

I didn't say that I prefer one over the other, I really like them both. Anyway, I just got them today, so I have to say that I'm quite pleased with my first two ebay purchases

Nah mate - that Lurtz is the Ambush at Amon Hen lurtz which isn't rare .
The rare Lurtz is the one where he's firing the bow

Hi all,

it's not exactly a miniature, but what about the different terrain pieces, that were available from GW/Forgeworld? I stumbled across pictures of the watchtower of amon sul by forgeworld, but it seems that it's long OOP (IF ANYONE HAS ONE PLEASE MAKE ME AN OFFER!-I have loads to trade!). But there were also the walls of Helms Deep and Minas Tirith, which are according to the "unofficial LOTR collectors guide" limited and only available for a short time!

Are these terrain pieces still available somewhere or do they appear occasionally on ebay?
