I think you have gone over the bow limit too, sorry, just swap some of the bows for spears on them Goblins.

that would mean losing the hard hitters (trolls) besides the 1 pt for a shield makes little difference in the total picture

I've seen Cave Trolls used as archery practice more often than they get to kill anything. Get into Mordor Trolls or Chieftains and now you're talking, but Cave Trolls have never been aces either for or against me. I've had Boromir and Gimli kill 2 Cave Trolls in consecutive Fight phases (not in the same game, mind you!) Your Warg Chief moves faster, hits almost as hard and has the benefit of a Might and a Fate.

The shield really does make little difference. You don't get the defence boost if you use it with a bow (unless you're mounted and have the Expert Rider special rule) but you can shield with it. Being that Goblins will generally outnumber the foe, shielding isn't a usual tactic of theirs. As Gothmog said, a Hero's equipment costs 5pts rather than 1.

Durburz is far better than Groblog in my books, I'd add him in the initial group and Groblog as leader of the reinforcements. I'd also convert my Blackshields with spears to carrying a hand weapon, as their bonuses above regular Goblins are largely lost when they support. Another thing worth noting is that the Blackshield Shaman isn't as useful as a regular Shaman, since he doesn't have the main spell you'll want to use; Fury. Having said that, he is VERY useful with his Shatter spell but not above or instead of a regular Shaman.

Druzhag costs nearly twice as much as Groboklg though. He is more cost effective.

Also, your Balckshields could be led by a regular Shamn rather than a Blackshield one.

?? Was this to me? I suggested Durburz the Goblin King instead of Groblog. I like his better Stand Fast!, courage and his extra point of Will and Fate.

Sorry Hurin, I misread you.

sacreddutchman, some of the names sound to Warhammerish to me especially Nurlag, Whiteskull and Moirlach.

Not too bad a list, I will look again when I'm not sidetracked by something else.

Durburz is the one of the 4 who doesn't look cheesy.

Agreed, and although I've done a "leg swap" on Groblog he still doesn't look as great as I'd like. In fact, his pose makes him look as though he's surfing and the crown makes it look like his neck should be broken.

Thats why ill be converting my heroes/shamans and captains from regular orcs, actually going to use a warhammer fantasy human wich i gave a hump and generally made hidious looking as a Shaman, backstory along the lines of...he was so ugly even when a newborn his parents left him im the woods where he was found by a warg female who just lost her young so she raises the hidious man as her own.

(ps the names are subject to change...as you can tell i;m not affraid to change my mind)

The concept of naming is goood, but inless you like WFB more than LotR a few of the names are a little off. (No offence to you)

Drakkah One Eye: Sounds more like a Black Numenorean, too posh, and the title makes him sound like a Norse God. Possible alternate names will be listed below.
White Death: I didn't think intelligent Warg names would be like this.
Manripper: as a Marauder is 4 entities and a Warrior, don't name them.
Black Shadow: as above
Moirlach of the loud voice: Saruman's cousin? Possible alternate names will be listed below
Greymane: see White Death, although on second thoughts, I like this name, keep it.
Whiteskull: see White Death.
Blackback: see Manripper.

Alternate Goblin names: Uzgash (king/Blackshield Cptn), Muzgash, Snagrat, Ashburz, Guznag.
Alternate Warg names: Half Tooth, Sabour.
