Hi there!

I'm trying to find something about the Sorcerous blast that I'm not pretty sure. The rules are clear but in essence, I think there is something wrong on it.
Sorcerous blast seems to be a "good" spell, however, you can target a model in combat. That model and others from the "good" team could be killed but anyway you can still use the spell. I have some doubts because of the "shooting" rule about avoiding damage to the Light troops. As I said before, the rules are clear, but in my head, seeing hobbits flying and dying from Gandalf's hands is a little "unepic".
Thx!

Yup, there's nothing wrong with Gandalf killing fellow Hobbits with Sorcerous Blast. Completely legit by the rules. (I would get rid of the Brandybuck and Took myself if I was in his place :) )/

Thank you!!! I would have to take more care of my poor Morannons collecting flowers in the Shire when there is a Gandalf wandering around :P

A good model can't target a model in combat with it, but evil Saruman can.

Draugluin, unfortunately you're wrong. Good model (Gandalf and Good Saruman) CAN target a model in combat with Sorcerous Blast.

I thought that only bad guys could target them? I know that the blasted models can hit others on your own side, but I didn't think that Gandaf or Good Saruman could actually target their allies.

You can't target your allied model, but you can target the model he's in combat with. That's the difference between magic and shooting, at least for the good guys.

what the gentlemen above me are trying to say is that with magic, you get to choose your target, there is no "in the way" or "roll to see who is hit". You choose your target, roll to see if you succeed, and if you do, bam you hit em. If he flies into some allied units in the process... Well you should have been more careful.

But if you blast someone in base contact with your own (good) models, they get blasted too. Which is why I was under the impression you couldn't do that.

Actually they don't get blasted. They just get knocked to the ground.

You can't target the blast at a model that is your ally because it says so in the rules.
You can target the blast at a model that is in combat with your ally, because the rule doesn't prevent it.
The blasted model gets S5 hit and flies away, the model in combat with him gets a S3 hit and knock to the ground.

There is no difference for Good and Evil with blast, except that you can't target your own model. You could however transfix or compel your own model, as there's no restriction on that.
