I presume that you hope that Warband 4 will be behind Warbnad 1, if you are succesful with that part let me know, because I wouldn't unless someone else had success. The Shde is an interesting idea, not sure Corsair really need it. To improve it swap all Corsairs w/ spears for 50% Haradrim w/ spears and 50% Haradrim w/ spears and bows, but then there is theme.

yes well theme is not really a problem with this list, i agree to the swap :D
I have a doubt on Dalamyr and on his 1 M point.. I love all his killer abilities but only one chance to make an heroic movement/ combat...
a more thematic list

Warband 1 12/12
Dalamyr, Fleetmaster of Umbar
6 Corsair of Umbar with Spear;
6 Corsair Reaver
----
Warband 2 12/12
The Betrayer with armoured horse;
6 Corsair of Umbar with Spear;
6 Corsair of Umbar with Shield;
----
Warband 3 12/12
Corsair Captain
6 Corsair of Umbar with Shield;
6 Corsair Reaver
----
Warband 4 12/12
Corsair Bo'sun
6 Corsair of Umbar with Spear;
6 Corsair Reaver
----

Another doubt : arbalesters are worth their cost? The fact that they can't move makes them useless?

I still recommend the Haradrim as speamen. And as archers. Arbalestersc aren't useless but I recommend Haradrim. Also without Haradrim the Betrayer is a poor choice and the Knight of Umbar would be better. Dalamyr is so so, I think.

yes my mistake :)

this should be the correct one

Warband 1 12/12
The Knight of Umbar with armoured horse;
6 Corsair of Umbar with Spear;
6 Corsair of Umbar with Shield;
----
Warband 2 12/12
Dalamyr, Fleetmaster of Umbar
2 Haradrim Warrior with Spear;
4 Haradrim Warrior with Bow; Spear;
6 Corsair Reaver
----
Warband 3 12/12
Corsair Bo'sun
6 Haradrim Warrior with Bow; Spear;
6 Corsair Reaver
----
Warband 4 12/12
Corsair Captain
6 Haradrim Warrior with Bow; Spear;
6 Corsair Reaver
----

16 bows, 6 M
I'm still keeping a band with corsair with spears to use their knives, for the other warbands haradrims with spear and bows will do the job :)

Go for the shade, it will give you an invincible front line.

For theme, except for armor& fight, I beleave haradrim&corsairs are the same, so you ciuld just say they are armored corsairs

Nice list.
seems pretty solid
how about trying to swap that bo' sun for another corsair captain?
you get +2 might, +1 will, +1 fight and +1 courage all for only 5 points more
seems like pretty good alue to me :)
otherwise though very nice list 8)

I run a similar 600 pt army, I also thought of using the shade but in reality I won so many combats simply by the corsairs f5 that i would say its necessary. I run a taskmaster and love the 'free might' but I do find dalamyr's 1 might a serious downer.

I presume by this you mean Corsair Reavers and not Corsairs, who are only Fight 4.

Also, did you mean the Shade wasn't necessary then?

Why not two Taskmasters?

And sorry for the small bombardment of interrigaton.

I don't understand this. In only 1 of the 6 scenarios you get to set up randomly on the sides (and even then you can might it up). In all other scenarios you can set up with corsairs in the front line and orcs in the 2nd. What's the problem?

I would personally play this type of list:

Corsair Captain
12 Reavers

Corsair Captain
12 Reavers

Shadow Lord on Fell Beast
12 Orcs with Spears

Shade
11 Orcs with Spears

----------

I'm running a similar list in 1000pts but with 2 extra Fell Beasts by swapping captains for Betrayer and KoU on FB.

Well, you're the major tournament player, you sknow better than I.

The reason I though that was because it leas one scenaario had them arrive randomly, and (I think) two of them have them start in the middle, with two zones, one behind the other, and it could be that the spearmen end up in front of the divider, and the Reavers end up behind it, and it would tae a turn to rearrange them once the battle starts.

Sorry for my awful english.

Yes I meant corsair reavers F5 make the shade less useful than if it was with a horde of goblins who have a low F value.

Taskmasters are better when you have a pool of might to begin with, as it mainly serves to extend the pool eg. I have 6 might and a task master with 50% chance to get free actions would be roughly 9 might. Although if your lucky (like I sometimes am) you can just call and call and call and contest their heroic actions without ever using a single point of might.

I really think the shadowlord is great / almost crucial for corsair armies that verse anything that can shoot.

Also it's like Blackmist said the only scenario where you might run into an issue deploying is Hold Ground / possibly Reconnoitre (but not as detrimental).

In To The Death you deploy front on 1-3 and anywhere on 4-6, so effectively on 1-6 you set up in the front with reavers in the front rank. Recon I guess might be different, but you don't have to rush forward from turn one, there's nothing wrong with waiting for a turn or 2 for everything to arrive.

Taskmasters imho are not too useful. they effectively increase your Might by half, but with the current rules you end up with 4+ bands per army and a total of 10+ Might in many cases, so there's no need for that.

As for Shade I think he's pretty crucial for a Reaver front rank because when you're fighting Elves with a 3A vs 2A you have roughly 60/40 chance of winning while with a Shade you're up to 70/30. You really don't want to be losing Reavers. When fighting anything under F5 normally you have a 72/28 wins ratio and with a Shade you get up to staggering 87% of won combats. If you were to stick a banner in somehow (or a Bosun, or even better Dark Marshal for extra anti-hero support) you're going up to 92%. Reavers with Shade are the new black ;)

Note on Goblins benefit from the Shade: 2v2 combat against everything with higher Fight is just 39/61, while with a Shade is 61/39. Shade for Goblins is effectively giving them F10 against all non-heroes. Shade for Reavers gives them a bonus on top of F10 because they start with F5

I see your point, I guess my issue is I normally play 600pt games and I find it hard to include a shade effectively into the army.

I see, BlackMist.

Wht about a Taskmaster in a list in which most of the other heroes are Budget Wraiths with no Might?
