@MacGothmog, couldn't possibly see more eye to eye with that guy on the vid. I doubt a third movie is just a prolonged dragged out script just to cash grab.

I still can't figure out how you plan it all to be 2 movies, you film it all to be 2 movies, you fit it all together to be 2 movies... and you end up with enough extra stuff to make a proper 3rd movie.

They actually just finished filming the first one with a little bit of filming done for the second, so they still have a lot of filming to do for Hobbit the 2nd before it comes out. Enough to change stuff up apperently.

I'd prefer they didn't make the third movie one that bridged the time between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. A movie that bridges the gap shouldn't be called "The Hobbit" and it would just sort of be out there on its own between the two film series, randomly. I think there is enough material between Bilbo's adventure with Thorin and Company and Gandalf's ordeal with the White Council that it actually could fill up three films without much filler. I'm going to give PJ the benefit of the doubt; he may have come to the conclusion that he expanded upon Gandalf's story too much, and cannot comfortably fit both Gandalf and Bilbo's stories into two films. Of course, they could just be money grabbing

Its rumoured that there will be a romance sub-plot involving one of the Dwarves and "Tauriel" the new female Elven character.

That Legolas stuff is just to build off Thranduil's capture of the Dwarves and to make the Elves seem more antagonistic, even though its actually the Elves that would take the moral highground mostly.

In the book, the Elvenking was untrusting of the Dwarves. He comes off as more than slightly bigoted, xenophobic and paranoid. The Dwarves weren't doing anything wrong...

On that occasion yes, but thats because of Bilbo's position. It could be a distortion when you compare them at the later scenes.
