Some great looking entries so far everyone!

@ChrisGoM - Shagrat looks fantastic, I really like the dark colours and I could be mistaken but is the mithril shirt in his hand painted using NMM?

Thanks Red Corsairs, I didn't intend to use NMM, but I didn't use metallic paints on the shirt so I guess I did by accident

I started painting my army of Mordor's Uruk-hai two weeks ago, and today I've seen this Challenge, so I would like to participate in.

If I can participate with all the army this should be the start photo:

If I the participation is with only one mini... I think the banner...

i agree, the banner looks great.
you've done really well to do so many conversions and make them all look so different with the limited poses that there are.
good job

Whoa, that banner looks amazing. Is that regular green stuff? it looks so fluid and pliable. Never thought banner cloth could be sculpted this good.

Nice models everyone! You are giving my Gorbag a hard time :( and me too, 'cause I don't know which one I'll vote for yet..

@ Karavatis: nice banner! I'm just wondering, how did you create it? You must have it pinned, right? The banner seems a little heavy if there's no metal pin inside... Would be a shame if it'd break off.

I nearly missed this competition! :o I realized I hadn't started to paint my entry yet! I ask my self, "Why not?" Proof pic. Duh.

Image

So yesterday I took the picture and got started. And after many hours, I finally finished! :D

Presenting: Gothmog, Lieutenant of Minas Morgul.

The base is supposed to represent burning grass in the back. I tried OSL to mimic a fire burning behind Gothmog with the glow shining on the ground and off the warg and his armour. Not sure how well that was pulled off but I think it looks convincing. :-D
So there you have it! Good luck to all participants! ;)

Here's my finished Mordor Uruk-hai Captain, if anyone actually remembers that I entered. The proof pic was done ages ago.

Image

I am however annoyed that this seems to have turned from a Shagrat challenge, with Mordor Uruks and Gorbag allowed, to becoming a andom Orc one including all manner of Sharkus, Gothmogs and Grishnakhs. A pity, because of this I feel it next time Aragorn or Theodred or Halbarad is picked, I will paint Suladan or Dalamyr, reason - he;s the same species. That seems to be sufficient reasoning this month. I am being serious, I will enter one of those into the challenge.

At last I finished my Mordor's Uruk-hai Banner... just in time.

Image

I hope you like it. If it is not allowed to put scenography with the mini tell me and I'll up another photo.

hey all
after a burst of speed painting i managed to paint him up in time. I tried to make him look like he'd marched hundreds of miles to grudgingly fight for the Dark Lord Sauron, this included lots of weathering and mud and i attempted a mouldy look for the cloth. please tell me what you think of it. >>>>>
