Looking good Sid, but the brightest parts of the golden armour look a bit flat, maybe a bit of shading with reddish brown would give them more definition? But anyway, they are still very good the way they are now.

Here is an update on my work:

Image

I have just spray-painted the knights silver. Some progress on the horses from last update: the skin and hair are now finished and other details are basecoated. Some shading and highlighting and I'll be done with them (I really don't like painting horses).

Just a few more bits and pieces(and a banner) to do. Got a feeling im going to come to a crossroads when finishing these models, deciding whether to up my game with highlights or to just take a damn photo and get stuck into the rest of my 100 model backlog! :(

A late entry — models just primed as of September 21st — and they're cavalry too! Wish me luck!

I don't actually play LOTR, because everyone around here plays other games. But I love the models and so I'm slow building a Mordor force. Surely 8 painted warg riders will come in handy one day, right?

(One of these wargs had surgery previously.)

@ Sidthesloth, might I suggest a wash? It would give them so much more depth...

Some great work so far! 8)
I've come to a sad realization that I won't be able to complete my entry.
Tomorrow I leave for a two week trip to Thailand and must leave the models home. I planned to finish them tonight and tomorrow morning but there's so much to do for this trip that there's not much time. :( I'll post pictures of how close I was before I leave. I don't want a rushed finish since I've put so much effort into them so far. So I will finish them upon return.
I'll be watching though as often as time permits. Best of luck to all! :)

Thanks Bilbo! :)
So here is where my models stand. I truly felt like this could have been a grand entry for me, but now it won't be finished in time.
Anyway, here are the pictures as promised.

Really proud of the banner. I wanted it to represent Boromir's quote, "By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe!" so I added the armoury equipment to the banner to try and show that. We'll see if I can paint it the same on the opposite side of the banner.
Sad I can't finish them till later but there are other challenges I can do. Hope you like them so far.
Now finish those entries! :D
