Your pictures confirm it. If I ever start a Dwarven army (Theoden forbid!) I'm replacing at least half of the axes with swords.

I definitely plan on adding swords to some more of them :)

Excellent sculpting! You've really added something special to these minis :)

Thanks :D Hopefully I'll be able to make each one unique :)

Agreed - most excellent sculpting. The pouches and chainmail are first class and fit the characters perfectly. 8)

Thanks edge :) I wish they still had the article up on the site though, would make it much easier

It's been almost a month since I last posted a finished project, but I have not been idle; I've been going from one project to the next, never finishing one until recently - Radagast the Brown. Unfortunately some of the paint has chipped off, but I'll be fixing that up (again) as soon as I can. (The last picture is slightly blurry.)

Thanks :) The bird was pretty simple to do, Chaos Black undercoat, drybrush Mechanicus Standard Grey (I think it's Adeptus Battlegrey in the old range), drybrush Fortress grey and a light drybrush of skull white.

Thanks! I had something special in mind to tie in with October's theme, but I simply ran out of time. I may still post him when I finish it though :)

I've finished two of the Dwarves - Férin and Fári who will follow the rules for Murin and Drár.

Férin and Fári are two brothers who travel with each other and a band of other Dwarves. Fári is often called the Burning Arrow, due to his red hair, his uncanny accuracy with a bow, and an unhealthy obsession with fire - an obsession which has grown so bad that his brother Férin no longer allows him to carry anything with which he could light a fire with. The older of the two, Férin, holds himself responsible for the safety of his brother and the other Dwarves travelling with them, often throwing himself into hopeless situations to keep his friends alive, and turning the odds in the Dwarves' favour, earning him the title of the Lucky Sword.

Very nice job on those two, both background and the miniatures themselves.

Great painting on those miniatures and thanks for the great story! I love myths and such and this small tale really activates my imagination.

Awesome work on the dwarves. It all fits together brilliantly. The sculpting and basing really set it off. Well done!!!!

Cheers mate :D I'm looking forwards to my next Dwarf project for this army - got a couple ideas I want to try :)

Thanks rheodon :) I definitely like adding some background and character to my minis (and writing in general), especially those that don't feature in LotR (unless they already have a background)

Thanks :) When I've finished my first Dwarf army, I'll definitely be painting a lot more Dwarves like that 8)

Thanks Edge :D I'm looking forwards to converting the whole army (and finishing my other Dwarf army, not far to go on that one now - hopefully it will be finished by the end of this year) :)

Here is the first part of my Wood Elf army. I currently have 47 of the plastic Wood Elves (can't find one), 12 of which need repainting and 24 of which need to be stripped and repainted. I also have 24 Galadhrim, all of which need basing and twelve need painting as well. Not very happy with the faces on these, but hopefully I'll improve them next time.

Very nice painting in general, but the mustache on the bottom one reminds me of a certain German dictator...

Whilst I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the Wood Elf poses, you've done a brilliant job painting them Chris. Radagast looks great amongst them too :)

:o Thanks Telchar, must admit I hadn't noticed the moustache, I really don't like the faces on these Wood Elves :(

Thanks Sid :D It certainly makes it easier to ambush someone if they can't see you :)

Cheers Gothmog :) Radagast is probably one of my favourite models that I've painted :)

Thanks mate :D you need to get those Orcs finished, before you turn into one! :o

Cheers Knighty :-D The Wood Elf sculpts aren't the best, but they're certainly no where near as bad as Orcs :)
