I have stopped many times at various local GW to check out these Dol Amroth, but none of the GW I have visited stock them. I have been repeatedly told to place an order via on-line. Unfortunately, I prefer to be able to inspect each resin figure before making a purchase. I have had to deal with too many poorly formed resin figures.

My question. Why are Dol Amroth only available on-line? I hope to purchase a warband of knights and a warband of men-at-arms, but will not do so unless I am able to inspect them first.

Thank you in advance for insight into this issue.

It all comes down to shop space ultimately. There'd be no possible way to stock everything available, so a lot of stock in all three ranges gets relegated to online-only. Since attention for LOTR has dwindled over the past few years that means that shop space is mainly given to Fantasy and 40K.

I understand your situation entirely though, but having bought a few FineCast Swan Knights myself I can happily say that they were all good quality. Contrary to popular belief the quality of Finecast is steadily improving.

I'm unsure about the men-at-arms though. Hopefully someone else who has had experience with them can help out there.

If you are near warhammer world (GW hq) you can order them off the store and pick them up a couple hours later from the shop. Then you can inspect before leaving.

Or order online and select "deliver to store" for free. Most stuff ships within 24 hours then you can pop down to store and open up to check in front of GW staff (and if necessary purchse GS etc whilst you're there :))

The only thing that would worry me about the Finecast Men-at-arms is the pike......

Thank you everyone for your replies.

I accept the explanation about store space, but area HQ should carry newly released products. Stocking 2 blisters/boxes of each product for a few months after the release date seems good business sense to me. Nevermind... no further comments needed about GW's business practices.

Thank you again for your replies.
