Hi there,
I recently found this Golden Hall of Edoras 3d puzzle, thanks to a video on YouTube: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wrebbit-3D-Gold ... 409&sr=8-1

And my question is, of course, does it scale up well with 28mm miniatures? Does anyone have this puzzle? If so, can someone please post a comparison picture with a miniature or tell the size? Thanks!

Good spot!

The amazon description says it's 22cm tall, so I reckon the front door/archway would be about 4-5cm tall. Enough for Gandalf to enter without taking his hat off.

Or alternatively, the model is 50cm long which implies that the 'real' Edoras is 30m long (assuming 28mm is 1:60 scale - see Thursday's thread). Maybe it's a little on the small side but it might just work.

Would love to see if anybody has actually used this.

I passed this video on youtube too - he hasn't built the edoras model yet but he compared the Isengard Orthanc tower.

I had heard of the Orthanc kit but was unaware of Edoras and the Citadel. They look pretty good. Edoras is the closest to 28mm scale - the others are much smaller - around 1:144 scale or smaller which works out at around 12mm scale figures.

Ah..I got this 2nd hand some years before I got into SBG, and built it. Its very impressive to look at, but not particularly strong, with the pieces essentially being a kind of soft foam with the design printed on. If you wanted it as a center piece, it would probably be fine, and I think it's a very similar scale to 28mm figures, but if you're gaming with it and moving it around alot, it may not stand up too well. However, it does look great, well worth getting.
