I have finally come back to my Goblin Army, and i'm trying to finish it up. I was figuring to use the new hobbit goblins in my sbg army. I was thinking as fielding them with hand weapons. That would only be 4 pts. and would be the cheapest models in the game.

Another side project will probably be converting the four named Goblins to ride wargs, and have the Great Goblin in a chariot. Any helpful tips on how would be big help as i am terrible at using green stuff

I also would like to know if the Warg marauders are worth it, and any other tips would be helpful.

While I can't comment on the first and the last parts of your post (as I don't have the new stuff yet- soon to be remedied), I can help you with the second part.

The Great Goblin on a chariot, huh? Well, here's my thoughts.

Google Wargames Factory, then poke around on their store until you find their Celtic Chariots, which get you 3 for a very, very reasonable price. Purchase a set. Wait for it to arrive, assemble the chariot.

Next, get a little goblin to drive the Great Goblin around, if that suits you- take a piece of wire, drill a hole, insert into the little goblin's hand to make a whip. Position on the front, and figure out a suitable position for the Great Goblin on the back.

Then, for the four little guys- Do one of two things- either 1) take warg riders, cut them at the torso, cut goblins at the same spot, file it off, make sure you like the fit, glue them on- viola, you have four goblins on wargs. Or cut the named goblins at about the hip/ belt line, then using green stuff make a new loincloth/skirt-type thing, attach legs at the proper length below it.

Sorry if that's not terribly clear, but I hope it helps!

If you're looking to use them ingame, I would advise against giving them wargs, as they cannot take them, unless you are refering to WotR. I would also at least give half the goblins a shield and half a spear. Only 1 point more, but more than worth it.

Draugluin, he could just make up some house rules! Wouldn't be too hard!

I don't think those goblins are allowed to take shields or spear.

Nope, or bows! The only option they have is 2-handed weapons.

Again, at the end of the day, rule of cool rules supreme!

Oh, when you said you wanted the four named Goblins on Warg, the only goblins you could possibly mean are in Moria, and the Moria goblins can most definitely take shields and spears.

You need to specify Goblin Town Goblins or Moria Goblins.

I am talking about the four named goblins from Moria. I would use them for wotr, and probably have house rules for them.

Thanks for the ideas Valamir, i was planing to have a small goblin with a whip. I was also thinking of having wargs pull the chariot. And the great goblin would not be glued onto the base, so he could climb out and attack people!

Draugluin, are you suggesting giving Moria Goblins spears and shields? I have thought about doing that but never seemed to get around to do it. Even Goblin archers with spears would be worth it.

Finally the topic i didnt make clear, take the goblins form goclin town boxed set. I want to paint them, and put them in my moria goblin army as goblins with hand weapons. Basically goblins with no spears, shields, or bows. Just a 4 point moria goblin, which would make them the cheapest troops in the game.

They already are the cheapest troops in the game, the only difference being that they have less defence but built in spears.

Moria goblins only have armour and hand weapons. the spears cost a point in the sbg version. Making them 5 points per miniature.

I know that, I'm saying that the NEW Goblin Town goblins are a point cheaper with less defence, but built in spears. So IMO, it's better to use them as Goblin Town goblins then as a Moria goblins without any equipment.

What are the differences between a normal Moria Goblin and a Goblin town Goblin?

I just said, the new ones have no armor, but count as having spears that can only support other Goblin Town goblins.

Sorry i didn't realize what you meant. I haven't gotten the new rules either. Wouldn't the moria goblins have a higher defense though?
