Why are you all so fussed about Eagles when there are WARGS!

Sorry

ETA: My birthday is 4 days before this release, so I know what to spend my birthday money on.

(It rhymes with Hell Targs)

Still waiting for a Thorin's Company release, as that is likely to be the only thing I'll be getting from this release.

Right, though, to be honest, I'd rather have two identical eagles (I can green-stuff convert) for 30 than two different ones (with leftover heads and talons) for 60. But that's just me... ;)

TBH the individual price of the Trolls from the Hobbit aren't that bad. It was the forcing of purchasing all three that makes it so hard to swallow. Likewise, I wish the Eagles would be individual but it really sounds like they're going to force the twin pack purchase price.

If they are single-packs with variety of options like the plastic Mordor / Isengard trolls or the plastic Ents then I'm actually going to be a little more happy...if they kept the price in check.

Well, would you rather buy the 3 trolls for $85, or each individually for $40 a piece? I would rather pay $50 for 2 eagles and have left over bits than 1 eagle for $30 with nothing else. TBH though, I won't be getting the eagles, I'll be getting the Fell Wargs, one of my friends though is getting at least the 2 eagles, maybe Gwaihir too. He's been waiting for The Hobbit eagles for awhile.

paying for those wargs are the same as paying for 6 rohan riders, expensive but least models looks awesome :P
and tho think I can make 2x decent warbands out of 2 boxes of orc hunters on fell wargs + 2 boxes of wargs , if there is orc hunter captains of course, dunno for sure.. if that happens 5 hunters and 6 wargs + captain per warband, seems a nice hunting pack :P
Although in the movie it seems there like 3 hunters per pack of 8 wargs + a captain lol

Exciting stuff! I'd love to get hold of some plastic eagles and some wargs.

I'd imagine they will be coming out week 3 of January, so that is plenty of time to get the rest painted!!!!

(I hope! )

I'm actually pretty excited about these releases. I'm stoked to get some of the new Plastic Fell Wargs (they look miles ahead of the old ones) and two plastic eagles for roughly 50 USD is pretty reasonable for Games Workshop pricing.

Look great and all but I'm just waiting for those mounted high elves - Been waiting for them a lot longer than a plastic eagle lol.

orc-archer over on TLA has posted a nice pic of the Hobbit release page in the new WD:

Yay for the two-eagle box. 8) Meh on the rest of the prices, though...

Can't make out what the third model in the 'Riddles' set is.

I am the only one who thinks the Grimhammers look like the Dragonslayers from Medieval II Total War LotR mod? Here's a pic of 'em
http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/12/11169/Dragonslayers_of_Ered_Mithrin.jpg
I quite like the Gollum model, except the eyes.. but they'll look better with a better paintjob I suppose. The only two things why I won't buy it: 'fine'cast and the price.. I'll buy the Grimmhammers though!

Wow, GW, really? If I wanted Gollum, then I'd be able to buy him from eBay for £2. That price, for two Hobbits and a boat, is absurd. I'll buy the eagles, but nothing else.

Riddles is an easy skip, the new Bilbo looks really bad, huge feet, awkward pose, doesn't look like Martin, but the prices on the eagles aren't bad, they'll be the only ones I get

The one in the EfGT box is excellent, and I'm sure some will be popping up on eBay soon enough cheaply.

Any news on Azog? Can't believe GW hasn't released anything about him.

That new Bilbo looks hilariously terrible. I mean, come on? He looks like he's got elephantiasis(don't look it up) in his feet and legs. It's happened to have some sort scale differences between miniatures, but now it's in ONE miniature. Oh joy. The pose also looks very silly. I would have expected more from you, mr. Alan Perry!

Gollum looks good though.

EDIT: Gollum's paintjob makes him look like a bald Marty Feldman.
