Hello everyone. Since my last update I have taken a break from painting. I guess I finally succumbed to painter's burnout. Then my dog needed some emergency treatment which more than wiped out my hobbit fund. The good news is that he received the all clear today and I found a whole lot of miniatures I had forgotten I had when tidying. To ease myself back into things I messed around with this rohan dude. Watching lotr in preparation of the hobbit reminded me how much I love these guys.

Very nicely done Warrior of Rohan! 8)
The muted colours really add to the realism

Regarding your armoured Celeborn and high elves: Stunning, just stunning... rediculously realistic! :yay:

It's great to see you back in the 'saddle' :) Glad your dog is OK. My 2 dogs are my best friends so I know how it feels when they get sick. The rohan warrior looks really good - the skin is spot on again.

That looks fantastic. Hard to believe it is just a 28mm mini - you have drawn out every detail.

Beautifully done, very much a natural look to him.

I've made a start on my hobbit stuff:

I must admit I don't normally like painting orcs. My painting style is messy enough and my orcs turn out a blurry mess. But my mum didn't know about that when she was doing her christmas shopping and they are proving to be a good learning experience.

They look great so far. However, I believe the upper half of the sword/bow is the wrong way around..

I really like Bolg!, too bad I don't see him fit in with an army I got... or any army yet for that matter.

@ CyberAlien312, you're right, but this way it makes more sense as a bow ;)

Yeah I wasn't being very attentive preparing the model and didn't realise my error until I had started painting.

You might be able to cut it off cleanly with a scalpel and reattach with a very fine pin?

Lovely painting though, Bolg is looking especially good. I think it's great to have a challenge once in a while. :)

I've started on Galadriel:

Image

One thing I am noticing about finecast is how grainy the surface is. Not sure if this is something that can be overcome in with proper priming (and using spray paint in the cold was in retrospect a bad idea). Anyone have any ideas?
