Thanks guys, much appreciated. :)
@garmenhord: he'll be shouting and I think I'm gonna try to make the face look a bit like Durburz. I'm not really looking forward to doing the face, because I've never sculpted a face before! A well, might actually be a nice challenge now I think about it.

I am pleasantly surprised at the high levels of sculpting being shown in this thread! :)

@feanor: is there any special technique for getting the cloth like that? do you roll it out and lay it on? it looks amazing :yay:

SidTheSloth: nice proportions, you've got a good start there.

Feanor: looking great so far, cloth is smooth and the clawed feet are awesome, turning out to be a very nice piece.

Did a bit on my own goblin to finish him off, some work on his left arm and hand, gave him a dwarf throwing axe too so he's really tooled up for fighting. I think this one is going to be a Prowler captain or character...

Not really I guess. It's very important to work on a hard 'base' though (this can be a basic shape of GS or a wire-miniature). Then I just mixed some GS and spread it out in the rough shape of the shirt. Then I smoothed it were necessary (to remove the little fingerprints) and added folds with a silicon tool.
Also, always, always work in layers and be patient. The last thing you want to do is touch a finished part before it's dry.

There are some excellent sculpting articles here: http://www.ebobminiatures.com/sculpting/sculpting.htm

@BizarreWarstar: thanks mate! Your own sculpt also looks amazing! Great attention to detail. Also like how he must have stolen de dwarven throwing axe. Looking forward to see him painted!

Though I can't compete with the "crazy" sculpting skills I have decided to throw my pics in the hat with a simple conversion.

He started as a conversion of Narzug, but upon closer look at the head, I decided against his face transplant. He still makes an ok Narzug but can also be used as a Goblin Captain.

Here is my pile of bits and spares

The subject

The legs are from a Dark Eldar model. One of the old casts

The sword looks a little crooked but I will try to reset it again once everything else is dry.

The planned base is down on the right side. It might be too big, but I hope to file him down some more to flatten it out. The glue is still drying on the model, but afterwords I plan a strap for the quiver / shoulder guard and start cleaning up some glue and green stuffing some cracks.

Well here is the final (almost) conversion on my Narzug / Goblin Captain. Still a little glue to clean up, along with some of the details on the corpse

He is not glued to the base to make it easier to paint, and I still haven't made my final decision about the it I am still torn on whether the base is too busy and takes away from the model. I would love to hear some options on the matter

Cheers

Cool conversion! I like the use of the different miniatures and it works out well!
As for the base: I think it looks good. It is a little busy, but that's okay. If there is something you want to change, though, I would change the arrow and re-position it a bit. For the composition I think it would look a bit better if it was pointing to in front of Narzug's left leg. You don't need to, of course, it already looks great as is.

Hi!

Yesterday I've found the sclupting competiton, today I've sculpted my version of an Gundabad Golbin-King which is much bigger, than normal warriors. He has the Head and the fur of an animal on his body. The bones (Femur) of this animal are used as weapon. I want to create an very primitve and wild Creature witch is leader of an Gundabad clan.

But first: Heres a Picture of the Wire with background of this thread:

As requested I've taken allot of pictures during the sculpting process:
