Yes. Sorry. I just presumed that you already had arathorn as he is In your army list. Just as well really, as they are very hard to get on eBay or anywhere apart from GW

I know haha been searching like crazy! Am resigned to the fact I'll likely be getting many of my remaining models from the shop.

Thanks my friend! Appreciate the encouragement! Much more pleased with the second attempt at highlighting and looking forward to applying all that has been learnt with this first batch of models with the second batch :)

I'm going to be starting a small arnor contingent to add to my high elves. For 500 pts, there is not much you am do or the grey company apart from the list you have. Aragorn and the twin will be very useful for higher point games, or ou can take aragorn to let your arnor guys go through any terrain (always useful).

Good luck with the Rohirrim, there are plenty of flods and stiff on te riders, but their horses look really hard to look realistic. I hope all goes well. 8)

I'll let you all know how I get on and take some pictures!

Anyone have any horse tips?!

Also, in the books didn't the rohirrim ride mainly grey horses??

Hm.. that's a good question. It's definitely time to read the books again! ;)
Personnally I like Brown horses for my Rohorrim depending on how dark you want them to be you can use Scorched Brown, Bestial Brown, Vermin Brown and maybe for accents mix them with Snakebite Leather or Bleached Bone.

Here's the "old" painting guide from GW: http://web.archive.org/web/200601041542 ... -horses/1/

By the way, I do not know what 'flods and stiff' means.

Thanks Crucifer, your guide and influence in the idea (using the fang AND green to mix up the look ranger to ranger) was a big big help and gave me something to aim for.

Fingers crossed for the Rohan!

And here are the rangers based! I think in future I will go more for Crucifer's style with the basing, but no overly displeased with the first effort and certainly look ready for the table!

Have already primed all my rohirrim and painted everything that needs to be green, green. And almost finished painting everything that needs to be brown, brown. Then flesh, mail/metals, bronzey bits... a wash and then highlight as before.

I'll then do my second grey company warband before doing the horses me'thinks...

You flatter too much buddy! But to be fair, I'm pretty pleased as it's my first attempt at painting anything hobby based. All thanks to the good advice on here!

The rocks are course, dark brown ballast and the grassy bushes is just a spring green lichen.

Didn't enjoy working with either but the effect has come out ok!

Thanks for the feedback my friend.

5 riders to go with the brown base colours. So green and brown will be done and can move onto the quicker flesh and metallics. Will post a picture this afternoon! Then washes... And after that, ill prime Erkenbrand and my 12 remaining rangers :)
