...it occurred to me that it hasn't occurred to me to go see it again :)

Comparatively, I saw LotR (each one) a few times in the theatres.

I had intended to go again but the cinema was full of children and teenagers. Yuck. And now that all the little monsters are back at school, no Hobbit. Damn. Just have to wait for the dvd as a stopgap while waiting on the blu-ray director's extended final ultimate steelbox limited edition version.
And I went to see all of the other LotR films at least 3 times and I have lost count on how many times I have watched them at home.

I've seen it twice, once in 24 fps and once in 48 fps, I liked 48 fps better. The DVD and Blu-Ray are supposed to come out around March I think.

Really? I saw it 3 times in as many weeks. I want to see it again, but I'm usually too busy with college.

I've seen it twice, and relived a lot through the soundtrack. It's no way near as good as FOTR, but I enjoyed it more than TTT and ROTK (even though I think ROTK is a technically better movie!)

However, it would appear that I'm in a minority.

Saw it twice.. got a bit bored between some parts the 2nd time.
Still I'd love to see it in DvD, I love pausing the movie and taking a better look on all the scenery, costumes etc.
And the extended edition and the behind the scenes/extra features were really worth it in Lotr, I hope the same happens with Hobbit

My only real criticism was the amount of CGI used, in fact there was a scene where Thorin stabs a goblin and the CGI looks terrible, didn't even look half real. But it must be hard to create real life goblins because of the aesthetics of the goblins and disproportional design, though some things could have been easier like the Hunter Orcs. Other than that I really liked it.

I want to see it again, but I'm poor enough to make that less likely.

At the same time, it wasn't special enough to miss out on something else to see it again.

I dunno, the thing was fun and I liked the music and the actors, and I loved the Dinner Party sequence, but the rest was more about staying for the cool costume designs and so forth.

Back in the day, I went to see Fellowship of the Ring with a friend, in April, in what was likely the final week of the thing showing on the big screen. We did it for a lark, but we were rewarded by the sight of the Two Towers trailer. So, maybe if I hang on till then, I might see the next hobbit trailer on the big screen.

But yeah, way too much CGI. The CGI-ish orcs are way less convincing than the slightly dodgy costumed dudes from the original trilogy. I know some are just costumed, but what I remember, looking back is Azog's weird skin and some cartoonish fellow villains.

I get the feeling the effect they are going for is that the Azog-orcs will become the more serious, darker threat, as time goes on. The "Goblin Town" orcs are a freakish side show. The spiders will be dealt with by Bilbo's cleverness. But the Orcs of Gundabad? They are a serious, dangerous threat, and a precursor to the War of the Ring.

I just wish they were more visually memorable.

Yeah, one of the most memorable things in LOTR for me was The Two Towers Helms Deep battle was the fact that real actors were being used for the closeups and some background battles and weren't all just programs repeating the same coded movement over again.

I managed to fit a few trips into a fairly hectic month and a half, fantastic film and I can't wait to get the blu-ray. It's just a shame I won't get to see it in HFR 3D again, it blew my mind how amazing it looked.

I personally just think movie ticket prices are way too high, and combined with the scheduling issues I have I didn't have much honest hope of seeing it again in the theater. I really did want to see it in 24fps to have a personal comparison between how things looked in the two formats but it never worked out.

I am REALLY looking forward to the Extended Edition coming out and it may even be the catalyst for us to upgrade to a BR player (yeah...out dated...). I hope both the 24fps and 48fps (NOT 3D) are packaged. I would be very disappointed if the only format available for the Extended Edition is some "home 3D" version. :-(

Also can't wait to see what may be included in the special box set (like the Argonath, Golumn and Minas Morgul statues with the FotR / TTT / RotK box sets).

So to stay OT, yes, I was very interested in seeing it again...just not so interested in paying the ticket cost and jumping thru schedule hoops.

Clag Azog saw it twice and we were divided in terms of frame rates. Some liked the traditional look whilst some of us liked the 3D experience. I agree that the music score, which I got for Xmas :-), adds a further levels to the enjoyment. It is great listening to the score and bringing back the movie in your head. It also shows how Howard Shore uses those musical motifs to suggest who is on screen and where you are.

I saw Hobbit twice in cinemas was hoping for 3. Conversly, I only saw TT and RotK once at cine,a, and I never saw FotR in cinemas at all believe it or not.
