Nice report, although i do have a question. Was the necromancer fielded alongside a taskmaster? Those guys let him cast channeled chill soul every turn if you have 2 of them

? I thought the Taskmaster only 'worked' based on a die roll? Still a good option to have around as the cost is fair but it's not a sure thing is it? TBH I only have Free Peoples and Kingdoms of Men and have only had short glimpses of the Evil books so I may not be aware of a change with the new rules.

It is a die roll, but a 50/50 chance of getting a free Channeled version of Chill Soul is a bit OP.

Yep, a 50/50 roll. So with two (by the odds), you get your might back every time.

Great game, great report. I particuarly liked the pictires. Of the Dol Guldor army and the terraign that is, the Elves ruined it by not being painted. 1,250pts was it?

UNfortunately, your Dol Guldor army was illegal. You have no Heroes in the Moria list who aren't independant and can lead your Bat Swarms.

You really did mean GALADHRIM GUARD vs Dol Guldur! How many Guard models were there? That was awsome! Too bad the elves lost

Thanks for the comments.
Although we used the new rules we used the Dol guldor army from the necromancer source book, which has bats (kind of a work around),for friendly club games I'm not too fussed about which rule books, we've even played LoME v warbands...!
Still, getting the games in the main thing, miss WotR though :-(

BUT with Sam and Louis in the club there is much more scope for bigger battles... Watch this space (not literally!)

I remember your Warbands vs LoME battle actually, it looked a little weird, but shows that both are viably balanced. So, interesting playtesting for the world as a whole in there.

Twas a 1000pts. The elves werent painted because of the proximity to the ToS. Both myself and louis were slaving away over tournament armies. I'm surprised I didnt pick up on the bat swarms :roll:

must have slipped past. They didnt do alot though once thranduil had his aura of dismay cast.

Was a fun game to play and I now have my own necromancer :twisted:
