Greetings all.

I'm working on a couple 500pt lists for this weekend and I'm bouncing around a little. I wanted to put the three options out for quick critique and also to see if anyone has specific experience with something like these. We play 'friendly competitive', which means we play to win but have a lot of laughs and fun at the same time. Themed armies are far more typical than tournament-maxed forces but a solid, challenging match is always on the menu.

The first is a rather traditional list. I tried to maximize three warbands (came out 12,11,11), one with Cav and the other two infantry. Lots of models, decent amount of Might (6 + Taskmaster), some shooting (poison arrows) and a mix of troop types. I'm used to playing low Defense infantry as Wood Elves are my primary force, though obviously the weaker shooting and lower Fight value here will make me pay far more attention to my tactics. I'm also relatively new to playing my own Cavalry, with Warg Riders begin my only real SBG experience (though I've fought against a lot of Cav types in SBG).

Warband 1 12/12
Haradrim King with Horse; War spear;
4 Haradrim Raider with Bow;
3 Haradrim Raider with War spear;
5 Serpent Rider
----
Warband 2 11/12
Haradrim Chieftain with Bow; Spear;
5 Haradrim Warrior with Bow;
3 Haradrim Warrior with Spear;
1 Watcher of Kârna with Bow;
2 Abrakhân Merchant Guard
----
Warband 3 11/12
Haradrim Taskmaster
4 Haradrim Warrior with Bow;
3 Haradrim Warrior with Spear;
1 Watcher of Kârna with Bow;
3 Abrakhân Merchant Guard
----

Option 2 is more of a "fun" force, but still tries to maintain some flexibility. Mumuk! Oh...and a few foot troops. The Rappelling Lines are present in case we roll a scenario that requires model count on the ground. After all, the Mumuk still only counts as one. :P The Chief has nearly a full Warband and it's beefed up with 4 Merchant Guard and a Watcher plus 5 spearmen for support. With the Mumuk probably distracting (and engaging) the bulk of my opponent's force I think the foot troops could pack a nice surprise.

Warband 1 8/12
War Mûmak of Harad with Rappelling Lines; Tusk Weapons;
8 Haradrim Warrior with Bow;
----
Warband 2 10/12
Haradrim Chieftain with Spear;
5 Haradrim Warrior with Spear;
1 Watcher of Kârna with Bow;
4 Abrakhân Merchant Guard
----

Or to expand the theme even further...Option 3.
Mumuk and full crew only. :D
I had to add a few extras that aren't really needed to get close to 500 points. :lol: The War Horn should help if I do intend to rappel any models at some point but it's partly there to consume points. Basically run the Mumuk around squishing anything possible and shooting at the rest. Slide down the ropes if I get near the end of the game and need models on the ground.

Warband 1 12/12
War Mûmak of Harad with Gnarled Hide; Mahûd Beastmaster; Rappelling Lines; Tusk Weapons;
1 Haradrim Warrior with War horn; Spear;
3 Haradrim Warrior with Bow;
5 Haradrim Warrior with Spear;
3 Watcher of Kârna with Bow;
----

I like both the mumak lists. always take the mahud chieftain, really good. (the only unnamed hero with 3 might)
the abran guards and watchers of karna are really good, so try to use them.
all are good/acceptable lists

I've actually just printed out all three, wrote 1-2 on one, 3-4 on the other and 5-6 on the last. I figure I'll let my opponent roll a d6 before the game and let him determine my fate. :)
