Sorry Steve but this pretty bad.

If you want all the Castellans and Wraiths, then drop the Morannon Orcs and take an all hero list.

Otherwise drop the Castellans, give some Orcs to be commanded by your non-Independant heroes. A castellan is only when you have 40-50pts spare at the end. Your desperately need more Warriors.

Also, castellans are not 65pts any more. They have been reduced by 25pts.

As you now know personally, I am a complete novice!

But from my observations...

1) Too few models for a 1000pt mordor force
2) If you're taking castellans, only take one or two
3) Basically, more orc warriors

I agree it's a weak force, Mordor is really only effective as a mob type army or with Sauron and some trolls. To put so many will printed heroes in one force would be easy to beat

if you really want to play castalans then take in the remaining warbands manny spears to support them. it can work, but it's not a really good competitive list, take maybe:

If you are going to bother with foot soldiers, make sure that at least half of your points are spent on the foot soldiers.

Fairly easy to best this list and break it quickly. Ringwraiths only have a wound apiece and you saw how a little luck with half a dozen archers can tear apart even high defence models. Also, to get the most from a Ringwraith, you need to be good at utilising his magic, which as a beginner, is unlikely (I would guess). Higher model count will work wonders for you.

My sons eagerness to have as many heavyweights as poss. Lol
He's having a re think today. Personally I think his isengard army is fine but what do I know lol he wants mordor now

If he wants to field loads of heavyweights then he should do only that, there is little point in him dragging his force down with foot soldiers who will only make his army break quicker.

Best way to learn is to play, rather than ponder over lists. My son did/does that too, but he's gotten a lot smarter about it, and lately he's been really effective.

@ Whafrog yes he didnt put a lot of thought into it but this thread has given him food for thought and hes re-thining his force.... He actually has a really good Isengard force but apparently hes bores of Isengard!!!!!!!! ( Obviously he doesn't realise how much those minis set me back!!!) LOL

@ Thermo Still pondering But Ive just started painting an alternative Rohan Captain so might Bring Theodens men to the front line, lol

Its from A differnet model range I think I got it from ebob miniatures but Im not sure.... Fits Rohan perfect though although I had to add the boots as he had sandles on!!!
