Just noticed how the hunter orcs are soo much more superior and wondered why anyone would bother with the original Warg riders. Especially with two attacks when on foot!!!!

warg riders are cheaper, and have a shield option.

The two attacks is only on foot, so while on a warg they have the exact rules ase a normal wargrider but for 4 more points. So, no normal wargriders are much better.

That's not correct, they have different rules in that Hunter orcs riding fell wargs do not require line of sight to charge. Also if you are forced to dismount or your mount is killed the hunter orc is far superior. So you're paying or those benefits

I don't think either one is "better", more like "you get what you pay for". D5 can be very nice if you're up against armies of S2 bows, it all depends on the context.

I'll use the old ones because they are the models i have!

both benefit for their own rules... if you made up nigth fight rules like not seeing models in a certaint distance or caves, fell wargs are btter since they can sniff their prey, other wargs are cheaper and orcs get better gear and both look diferent, use what you like most, that those appeal more to you and learn how to use him thats my best advice :)

Personally I never saw Wargs as being giant Hyenas, and though it artistic licence from Weta. I always imagined them to be akin to the European timber wolf (appropriate to Nordic Saga), though somewhat larger and chunkier, which is what we have with Fell Wargs in the Hobbit film.

I also feel that the standard of miniature is much higher with the Fell Wargs and hunter orcs as well. I am glad that they have both got special rules to distinguish them from their older counter parts, as I already have an army of the LOTR Mordor Orcs on Wargs, much of which are painstakingly converted, and I like to have a different feel, look and abilities in my armies!

I hope that we get a captain, standard bearer and horn blower (mounted and dismounted) for the Hunter Orcs, and separate rules for Yazneg making him subject to some sort of carrot and stick special rule.

Guys I don't know about the two attacks but just know I opened GW's site and there where stats under the hunter orcs and it shows them having only one attack.

P.S. After looking their site for awhile I saw they have selectively published some stats of their products like bolg, riddles in the dark, white council etc.
My only guess about this is that they didn't do that because they respect their costumers but maybe these products didn't sell well and they are doing everything they can to make sales go up

Its the same in the rule book, but states a special rule "Many Blades (?)" giving them an extra attack when on foot!

Again, the reason of reading the rulebook first rears it's head.

ok guys I don't have the new rulebook and I'm not willing to buy it since I'm not playing anymore.

Thought that many blades rule would be something about using one and two handed weapons. Clearly I was wrong.
