Another update
So, cleaning my room the other day I stumbled upon some old sprues, noticeably my mines of moria pillar sprues and some goblin town goblin sprues.
Not wanting t waste such fine plastic and always thinking I need a second catapult but not having an income currently It tilted anyway I expect you would like to see some pictures then.

Excellent use for sprues, Grungehog!

Now make an entire fortress out of sprues for the catapult to attack! :P

The catapult looks great but I would beef the frame up - double the sprues in some cases, maybe even deviate slightly from the basic design to give it a bit more character. The brackets and fixings done in greenstuff are very neat.
And it is a Hell of a lot cheaper that the original :D

I shall finish off the catapult, it does look a wee thin compared to gw one but then maybe this catapult had the short end of the stick

Great idea for the catapult, how did you make the elf shield?

years ago I made a press mould from the high elf shield and spear models using green stuff and I have just cast 4 shields there.

If you have access to green stuff i would go for that, because it's very easy to make axes, the trick is to make sure when its curing having the axe facing down so it keeps it's shape.
and as far flames go would you want any, or just want an axe without flames?

Yes I would add flames to the axe I used.... I would prefer to go with an already made axe....

Cool battle matt! Really want to see it painted. Is it going to be grass land of more rock like?

How did you make those elven shields? I would like to make some my self but don't have a methode of molding them with green stuff. good idead to use an old dvd. smooth surface

I really love your catapult! As I have some old sprues as well I'm thinking about doing the same if you don't mind? Are those rohan shield in the wheels?
How did you make the plastic look like wood? Did you use a carving knife?
