First of all, I've been thinking for a while to start an Isengard army. I'd think a 500 pt army would be a great start for one. I'm just a little stumped on what to start my army with; so that's where I need your help :-)

I've decided on two heroes to start off with, Lurtz and Saruman. Now I need a few war bands, but what to fill them up with? :-/

If anyone could suggest what I could add, post an army list maybe. People who are experienced with Isengard and know what troops to have in a small army? Of course, anyone can suggest or pop an idea :-)

I've had a little search through Gw's miniatures for the fallen realms online. I do not have the sourcebook yet, but i shall get that soon.

Secondly today, I'm thinking of sculpting a Gandalf The Grey :gandalf: to add to my collection :-)

I'm a little stumped on the pose though :-/ I can picture him running with his staff and Glamdring, but I'm not to sure. I'll ask you guys if you have any ideas on poses, pictures perhaps? I'll be sure to upload my progress in the future, soon as I finish my current sculpting project and finish painting up my mounted Legolas and Gimli :-D

That's all for today, maybe. Yours sincerely, Bofur The Dwarf :gimli:

For Isengard I would actually not recommend either of those heroes in that small of a point scale. I'd vote for Vrasku and Ugluk or even a standard Captain as heroes, maybe a shaman. Beserkers, Ferals, and plenty of Armoured Uruks

For a swift and hard hitting force with a surprisingly high amount of miniatures and a degree of tactical flexibility (due to the crossbows). why not try:

Warband 1.
Mauhir, 10 Uruk Pikes, 3 Uruks with shields, 1 Uruk with crossbow.

Warband 2.
Vrasku, 10 Uruk pikes, 4 Uruk crossbows.

Warband 3.
Uuk Hai Drummer (See http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Cus ... s_v1.1.pdf as they left it out of the rule book!) 8 Uruk Hai pikes and an Uruk Hai Beserker.

This list is bang on 500 points!

You have a bit too much soldiers per warband !
Uglùk
6 Uruk-hai w/ shields
6 Uruk-hai w/ pikes

Vraskû
10 Uruk-hai w/ Xbows

Mauhùr
9 Marauders Uruk-hai w/ shields

500 pts 34 figs is my Isengard tournament list !
