The latest battle report from East Grinstead club sees Erebor Dwarves and High Elves take on Mordor with a host of Morannon orcs...

Awesome battle report! It's inspired me to get my dwarves painted up now (well tomorrow). :-D

One question however: those dwarves with shields and spears? Have they been converted or are they from a different range? Just wondering because they look great, although I didn't get a proper look.

They are my converted erebor dwarves. I used grimhammer bases, all GW for me

A few ideas. Sorry if they read critical.... Im tired but want to get these thoughts down before bed.

Elite armies should not form a standard shield wall when outnumbered. Especially with so much open space.

Be clever, either get your elves supporting the dwarves or string out the middle of the line thin (and shield) and on the end have cluster of men (and fighting heroes) hacking through where you can outnumber your opponent.

Be prepared to do a collapsing centre. I can explain this tactic if needed... but it is similar to a pincer only it draws your opponent forward as if they were doing to shield wall it and you can outnumber your opponent mroe easily even though they have more models.

If you are a horde you really must either overlap or break through your opponent quickly. Those numbers must be brought to bear or the game is lost.
