My local GW is after using this as a display piece in the New Year, which I think I will go for as it will be novel to see my work displayed in a shop. We chatted for a while and I ran my ideas by them and they want to display some of my future projects, so all in all it was nice.
.

Good news and well deseved 8)

Finished piece looks fantastic! This is the first chance I've had to look in a couple months and it looks amazing! Great work! Awesome news about getting in your local GW too!

This really is an accomplishment. One of the best scenics I've seen. Any room is surely better for it.

That's pretty cool. It should help generate interest in the hobby.

I wouldn't do it as a freebie though, they should give you something in return.

Thanks everyone. It is my intention not to do this as a freebee, but I will take it in and let them see it before negotiations start. I would like to think it can start some interest in the hobby side, that is my hope anyway.

Just a quick update to show Bag End now sitting proudly in GW Hull. It will appear on their Facebook page soon.

On further news I have been asked to produce displays for them as a way to solely show off their products. We will see what transpires with that as the initial suggestion was they seem to be the only one at a gain, but you never know.
For those who will be interested, the release for March will involve dwarves to a large degree. I know this as I've been asked to do something centred around them.

What is there to bring out for dwarves, other than new models for the Company? I don't remember anything new for them in DoS.

Honestly, you get no freebies out of them, why should you work for free? They could at least pay you in minis, especially if you're doing commissions. As an absolute minimum.

Like I say, it's early days. I won't do work for nothing so let's just see.
I was hoping for something like I would do displays of new models and get to keep them, but that may not be.

Awesome recognition, but yes, if it's a one way street, sod them. They never tire of reminding us that they're a business when it suits them, so they can't play the "for the joy of the hobby" card when it doesn't!

Amazing! Simply gorgeous! Like the others have said don't take peanuts for a stellar effort, or as The Joker says "If you're good at something never do it for free."

Just ask them for a box of mins every time you do a project.

I'd definitely be asking myself "what's in it for me?" . You spent money and worked hard on that. For GW to ask you to do more just so they can claim credit and flog more stuff is more than a bit cheeky. Like somebody already said, the least they could do is offer you some stock as incentive.
