I see his point value, and compared him to the following people.....

Hes got more might and fight value the Bifur/Fimbul/Gambling and the same fight as Kili/Fili/Fimbul.

He also obviously moves faster than them all, and courage doesnt matter for him.

In addition he has the on par attacks wounds strength defense etc.

His extra might is awesome, but doesnt go to much use because of his special rule... its nice though for combat and wounding.

So what are your thoughts. Just wondering....cause it seems weird. Hes expensive but actually on par for the other heros stats, just not exactly the same.

I just thought of this at first because I was considering buying an azog model on foot off someone by itself because I didnt want to shell out almost 45 dollars for 2 pieces, thinking I would never even use the warg, but then I thought to myself, maybe I could use him. Maybe not unless its a 750 pt battle because at the curent cost he would take up almost half of a 500 pt army battle himself with his canine!

Anyway, anyone seen these two use or at least the white warg alone and what do you guys think?

Why wouldn't you take the White Warg? Since she is a mount, she is actually cheaper in points than a Wild Warg Chieftain which is less effective. The Warg is great, one of the better value items. The fact that to use her you have to use Azog as well is limiting though, and you shouldn't take them at less than 800pts I think.

Oh, and the White Warg is female, so stop calling her a He.

Having played with Azog and seen/read battle reports I would honestly say the best way to user him is to mount him then instantly dismount him so you get two heroes who can fight at full strength. Azog get's easily mobbed/shot at cos he is a big model when mounted, but on foot mobbing him is hard and there will be mroe stuff covering him from bowfire. Also for 50pts the white warg gets you 3 might and a ten inch move.

then again the white warg has a 60mm base so might be hard to fully exploit its strengths w/o getting swarmed

No, the White Warg has a 50mm base.

You're going to sculpt her? Do you mean as a loose Warg? I'd love to see that sculpt.

Well the plan is to sculpt it loose with a small slot in the fur, then sculpt Azog mounted but be able to detach him.
And then have Azog by foot too, neither of the Azogs will be amputees though I don't like the metal spike!

Personally I'd say that at anything less than 800pts the warg is not worth it.

The way I see it, you call heroics with azog and use the warg's might to change dice or vice versa.
I don't see azog being that useful though. Too many points for an evil hero who is so low defence. Gilgalad eat's Azog

That sounds about right. The giant base doesnt sound too hot of an idea to use.

That sounds cool. I always wanted to see him with two arms especially from the beginning battle scene against Thror and stuff. If this game was more popular it would be a nice scene the battle of Azanulbizar with him two hands on his weapon swinging overhead with his chest all out looking orcy. Or maybe his feet planted and him swinging it parellel to the ground about to smash a shield.

I think the idea is to support him with spears and keep his flanks guarded, funneling heros to him to he can win the fight, and then crush them with wounds. Clearly the best anti hero single foot figure in the game offensively speaking.

The white warg part of the model is also absolutely beautiful :) It's a shame the Azog is far far too small.

I think a fun list at 500 points would be…

W1 - Azog (white warg)
12 Hunter Orcs (on ft)

W2 - 10 Fell Wargs (Denizens of Mirkwood list)

W3 - 10 Fell Wargs (Denizens of Mirkwood list)

And then dismount Azog so the White Warg effectively leads the 20 Fell Wargs :)

She's not the white warg. She's Daisy.Daisy is from what I can tell very good. She gets Mr 3+ to wound heros into combat faster. As he has low defence Daisy can also serve as a meatshield. Also:Does burly work with I am the master? If so wouldn't azog wound the balrog on 2+ essentially?

No Burly + master in my opinion. Read the FAQ... to me it implies 3+ is the barrow

I wouldn't field Azog without her. For 50 points Azog gets more movement, extra charge bonus, but most of all: 3 extra might to use on Heroic Moves and Combats so Azog can keep his for Heroic Strike.

If you field Azog without her you might as well field Bolg. Who is a better deal for their points imo.

True Blog is a beast. I'm so mad they changed his model because I wanted to field him with the old look. I wonder when they're releasing gundabad orc general stats. I hope he's a level like 80-100 points. Where he can still be an armies general because that model Does Not deserve to be 60 pts or less.

I think you can still use him as bolg.
