Do you mean the putty tape shops are selling now? Its a one piece tape that hardens in 5 minutes or so?

I hate that stuff and I've stopped using it for my press molded bases. You can't get it off your fingers and smells real bad.

Hey everyone, after a bit of a hiatus I am back! Just watched the Desolation of Smaug yesterday and I've decided to return to middle earth.

I have been painting however it hasn't been from middle earth I thought I would share it here rather than the off topic showcase as I'd like to keep all my pieces in the one thread so here is what I've done to get back into the swing of painting:

Image

Comments are more than welcome and apologies for being off topic. I've started work on the EFGT Gandalf so it'll be back to normality with my next post. :)

It's a work in progress thread so i don't think it's that disturbing to put this in it.
Super that Superman. :-p Nice painting and a nice sculpture.

Thanks for the comments guys :), the cape was quite funny I spent the least time on that almost rushing it because I just want it finished and it ended up coming out looking the best haha.

Here is my current work in progress, Gandalf from EFGT. The skin is finished and I thought the hat was too but it just doesn't look right, any ideas would be great. The robes still need highlighting, I've only done a little of it so far.

I think the front of the hats pointed part needs some more highlighting. The face and especially the eyes are first class, brilliant job on them.

Excellent work on the face. I rushed mine, as I have a few metal gandalf's I'd like to devote more attention to, but I regret it now- it really is a nice model, plastic or no.

The beard and face look great, the hat needs another layer of shadows and highlights.

Hey guys, I have an update! I've been working on my EFGT goblins, the first 3 are for this months painting challenge. I started off last month using my own colour schemes but for the challenge I've decided to try out the games workshop red wash and white skin paint scheme, here they are:

Image

Image

Here are the other 8 I did last month, I liked the purple paint scheme but didn't want to do a 3rd lot of paint schemes as it felt too much and wanted a sort of uniformed look for skin colours. That guy will be left as a mutant haha.

Image

Here are all the goblins I'm working on. I'm hoping to have them all done by the end of this month but realistically I'd be happy to just have the 8 done for the warband challenge. The front 5 guys are the remaining of that warband.

I'm liking the variation in colour scheme, it makes the ramshackle bunch look even more ramshackled.

Here's an update to my work in progress so far this month. I've finished all the goblins skin, eyes and claws with the exception of the captain who needs to catch up to the others.

Well I didn't get them done in time for the challenge but I've been painting the goblins at my own leisure.

All that remains is a few bits here and there and all their hair:

Also I've finished their bases:

I'll post better photos once they're all done, should only be one more session! :)
