Hi there.
I will organize an SBG gameday at Sunday. We will play three battles.
Rules: 400 points, must bring one named hero and one captain.
I don't want to play simple death-match, I want to follow some great scenarios. So hereby I ask you guys, what do you suggest? Which scenarios are your favourites?

I personally don't understand why people hate so much on "simple" death matches, there's nothing simple about them. Personally I think they're far more fun than the GW "official" scenarios.
Rant Aside: lol I personally like ones where you have to capture an objective (light object) and run it off a board edge to win.

i like the simple death matches as well, nothing companies to them. But i like the one where the goal is to capture as many objectives as possible and hold them...i usually play with 5...but for 400 points you would want to only do 3

Lords of Battle and Hold Ground win it for me. I also like Domination but that might be a bit of a stretch at 400 points. The new DOS ones all look like good fun but only sieze the prize will work well at such a low points value.

I think the problem with the simple battle is these:
I, as a Mordor player, always suffer from the fact that the good side don't move. They just come closer a little bit, they create a camp, and they shoot a lot. So until I catch the enemy, I loose many troops.
This is the reason I like to play for some objective, so everyone must move a lot.

oh the arrows...lol i have found memories of high elves and bows (or rather not so found).i play with moria so i know the feeling. so here are some things i did that you might find useful. Use the terrain to advantage as well, your enemy will have the chance to hit your cover before you so it is a good factor.
put your shield armed models in front everyone else, the higher defense will let them survive longer too.

You could still play simple battles if you deploy using, say, the Lords of Battle rules. That way there's a good chance you can start quite close to your enemy. In any case, Seize the Prize and Lords of Battle are my faves.
