You clean up your messy blending well. :)
They look awesome even for a bunch of elves line dancing. All the colors work well together.

Your Thranduil shows off the fine detail better than the official pictures - and in a more elvish, other-worldly fashion too.
I am still waiting for the ladies phone numbers.... story of my life there :)

I've done a little more on thranduil.

The top half is mostly done. The outer robe needs a lot more attention to sharpen the highlights on the folds.

Whenever i see your work I feel both inspired to work harder to improve my painting and the desire to throw all my paint out because I'll never be that good, all at the same time. That is the biggest compliment i can make!

You have given Thranduil that sinister look that I feel he has in the movie, very calm but quick to ire and ruthless.
The zenithal light has been executed perfectly and the colour choice has set off the look incredibly well.
I would go as far as saying I am impressed.

Pretty much. I like to mix in a pale blue into the highlights to give a crisper look than pure ivory and there is red glazed into the shadows.

Specifically I used the following paints from the p3 range

Cryx bane highlight - grey green
Menoth white highlight - ivory
Frostbite - pale blue
Trollblood base and highlight - subdued blue green
Coal black - dark blue green
Sanguinary base - dark red
