Such great entries here, it's gonna be a hard decision I think. Anyway, here's my Treebeard. Still waiting for my lightbox, so had to do the photos in a milk carton. It sufficed... I think.

No, in my opinion doesn't suffice for a painting competion. You should really do better pics, the paint job seems to be worth it, but with such pics not many will vote for this modell. It is ok for a WIP thread, but not if you wan't to achieve a decent result.

Well if i could take some better photos, I would have. I have no talent in photography, I couldn't upload the photos from my camera and so had to use a milk carton and my iOS camera. It's the best I could do, and I'm not worried about how many votes I get. I'm happy I participated, and this challenge helped me paint my model this month. That's all I can ask for.

Im not arguing with you and I'm happy when your happy, but of course you can do better if you want. E.g. the background... What is your upload issue with the pics from your cam?

Edit: I would care less if the paintjob wasn't promising.

If Sauron counts as a monster I'll enter him.

I might even finish this one before the deadline, as I have a short holiday. :D

Hi, I was just wondering how the monthly competition works with a boxed set (for example the boxed set of 12 Mordor orcs)? Would I just need to nominate one of the miniatures or would I need to submit them all? I know that its maybe not the best thing to enter for the competition but just curious.

Thanks. 8)

Unfortunately orcs are not classed as monsters in the game Ryle so they would fall outside of the challenge criteria this time around.

Hi ukfreddybear, I didn't think orcs would count. I was just more thinking about future challenges as to how it would work with box sets (it may influence future purchases).

Thanks.

It depends on the challlenge. A warband challenge would be more than one figure obviously. Each challenge it varies.

I've finished my Great Goblin sculpt about a week ago and forgot to put it up. But, here we go! I'm reasonably happy with how he turned out in the end - it certainly looked better than when he was just green. The sculpt obviously still has things I don't like, but I guess I've learned a lot from it! And besides, orcs are quite forgiving to sculpt: they shouldn't have nice smooth faces, hands and proportions in the first place. :P

Anyway, here's my finished entry!

Good luck to all, especially for those who are still trying to finish their monster in the last few days!

I've gotta get focused. I've been painting so many different things this month (including my mumak from like 6 years ago) So I'm yet to finish as well

Hm.. what's today's date again?

Time for a personal speedpaint challenge, then. I'm much more likely to fail than succeed, but I may as well have a go. As such, it's obviously not going to be my very best work, but if I can get it done, at best I have another Ent/Treeman/Huorn/Treant to use in LotR/WotR/KoW/etc, and at worst I have yet another unpainted figure that will languish for years.

Here's my "before" pic from an hour or so ago:

And here's a couple of "yes, really - by tomorrow" ones I just snapped:

Wish me luck, I'm going to need it...
