Hey guys,

New user, so I hope this is the right forum, but my question is are the new wood elf profiles from Desolation of Smaug sourcebook adding to the Thranduil's hall army list from the free people or is it a new army list?

Thanks guys

First of all, welcome to the One Ring! :)
And to answer your question: It's a new army list.

So as a new army list does that mean I couldn't take a war band with 6 wood elves with spears and 6 palace guard? and that Tauriel couldn't lead a warband of wood elves or sentinels? Cause if so that's pretty silly :/

Officially they are separate as they are made under different licences, so even though they are wood elves, mirkwood elves are different. I suspect this will change in the future but it is actually better to do it this way until there is a chance to balance or FAQ the new models with the old, otherwise you may end up with some overpowered armies. But yes, only new stuff can be lead by new stuff, and old by old stuff.

Well that's awfully disappointing but I can take Legolas or Thranduil from the old list leading wood elf warriors and then ally with Tauriel or a captain or whatever leading some new troops? Disappointing but thanks for the responses.

You can whith Legolas but I'm not sure if so with Thranduil has to have to use the more recent profile.

You can use the old profile for Thranduil.
