It's not £20 if you buy from an indie like element games (shameless plug). But each to their own.

Thats what I like to hear. :D

I'm not getting any of the Hobbit releases (for various reasons - high prices, my preference for metal over Finecast etc) so the DOS sourcebook is not a worthwhile purchase for me. If I did get some Hobbit miniatures (I'd love the Mirkwood Rangers) then I would get the sourcebook.

I did get the Hobbit AUJ rulebook though for £30 off ebay - same price as my old ORB, which I'm quite chuffed about. :D

Just to confirm, you don't need the DoS sourcebook to attend, it's more to encourage those who have it, to bring it since the new scenarios we'll be using are in it.

Hello guys. I am seriously considering coming to this tournament however I have never been to one before and haven't played any competitive games as of yet. Does this matter? If I'm not going to be a pain in the backside to the better players then I'm definitely up for going.

Of course not buddy!

I've only played in two myself, and that's only since being involved in the channel :)

Everyone is there to help, and Jamie and I will be there for any players who are unsure of anything. Just enjoy it, the company and the people, that's what it's all about :)

As the tournament progresses with the swiss ranking system, the more competitive players/armies will end up playing each other anyway, so don't worry about feeling out of your depth. Just have fun!

I expect to see you there! Get your tickets quick too, x-wing tournament on same day is growing and we don't want any of our left over allocation going to them!

It'll be worth the trip. Think of all the money you'd save on the miniatures you wanted. That in itself would pay for your flight ;)

Well considering the round trip according to my English roommate is roughly a thousand dollars I don't know about that. Haha

Cheapest I've found is $1300 USD for my exact flight round-trip. That's why I'll have to wait a year to go

Haha I agree, lot's of money! But we'll do it again next year, so get saving and we'll make sure it's even better than our first attempt this year :)
