Changing my Warband. I don't think I can paint browns and greys anymore. I need to paint a different colour, and that's gonna be steel.

Boromir and seven Minas Tirith spearmen.

You can add this to my list of potential entries too! Not entirely happy with the conversion but it'll do and should hopefully paint up OK.

Can I get a ruling? Are Wild Wargs considered foot or mounted? I thought the base sizes would have meant the warband should have four models, but I see someone else was planning on eight...

I'm ok either way, but I need to go buy another box if I need eight...

I think the idea is that cavalry takes longer to paint as there are mounts and riders - loose wargs are just the mounts, so that would be 8 then.

Exactly this. Riderless mounts would be counted as infantry so would require 8 for the challenge.

Cheers for answering that Coen.

Sorry to be a pain here, but I'm gonna enter Faramir as my hero instead of Boromir. Gonna be a tight month, so thought I'd go for an easier hero.

Quick blurry pic, but hope it suffices :-)

Hi everybody.
At last I have decided to participate in the Challenge.
Mi entry is a Kârna Watcher's company with a Tribe's Chief conversion.
I hope to finish all them a time.

Image

And this is the Tribe's Chief, it isn't finish yet, I must make a lot more of details on it, but this is the base of the work.

Good luck everybody.

Great work on that conversion karavatis, I recognise some artwork clearly in there - well done, very elaborate. Would look even better leading more Mahûd though!

In other news, my entry is finished. Merry is a bit shiney, but no time for another layer of varnish. Only 58 more to paint now...

Group shots (click for larger pics):

And a couple of detailed pictures of Meriadoc, Marshal of the Riddermark (not quite, but he looks the job!) and some of his companions:

Very nice work, Coenus!
I'm doubting my ability to get my warband done. I've not had time to do anything since the proof pic, and with that many models they become just another bloody unit in the painting queue instead of a character that can be done as an enjoyable break from units.

Hm, actually. I see we only have one more weekend before this ends, so I'm 95% sure it's not going to happen... I've got elves that need finishing, and I only really get to paint on the weekends...
