I've recently started painting models from a huge pile that I've been collecting for years. My plan is to paint up large armies for Arnor and Angmar. The first step was to paint up some forces for Battle Companies.

My Arnor force is led by Captain Marko Steelknife...

You can see more details on my blog. I have lots of plans to expand these forces and will continue to add pics as the armies grow.

Steelknife? Why not Ironknife, lol.
Very nice, I especially like the painting on the captain.

Awesome looking Battle Company. I know there are a lot of people that weren't fans of the Warriors of Arnor minis, but I've always liked them, and you've done an excellent job on these guys.

Sad thing, that captain is already gone from GW, I really wanted one after seeing this one. I love the design of arnor. And the green paint scheme. I love green.

I'm a few weeks away from needing another captain for my Warriors of Arnor, but I thought I'd post pics of the conversion...

The model is an Osiligath Veteran. I cut off the Gondor shield (not easy to do since it was against the body) and sacrificed one of my Warriors of Arnor to get his shield and the top of his helmet. I used green stuff to sculpt the missing bit of his arm and Formula P3 Modeling Putty (which I find easier to work with) to make the tails of the helmet wreath.

Once he's painted he should blend in well despite the few bits of plate armor that the others lack...

Good conversion and he should fit in well with the other warriors.

Very well painted minis, and you have great conversion skills too.

I like your painting and your conversion work (as well as your ability to get hold of metal Orcs - where did you get them by the way?) but I don't like any of the names you've made up. You might be suffering from a case of Warhammeritis?

I bought the orcs (and most of my metal) when they came out! I have simply been hoarding them like a dragon...

Marko Steelknife is simply a character I've used in games of all kinds for 30 years... the Orc names are authentic enough, though their titles are certainly not very tolkienesque I'll agree... shrug...
