How are we all going this month? I've not completed anything just yet and doubt I will but I have a few things in the works for next month. I'm back painting Uruk-Hai at this stage working on 6 Pikes and a siege ballista.

Doing pretty well. I'm not sure what the status of this competition is, as we seem to have lost our fearless leader. Hopefully everything is ok with Erunion...

Agreed, hoping all is well and he returns. In the meantime I'm going to keep posting my updates so if he does return it can be recorded. Next month for me isn't going to be pretty, I finally put in that big order I was planning on.... I believe about 8 boxes of Hobbit plastics.

Greetings, Gents.

I'm here. Just been on automatic pilot for a couple of weeks. My grandmother passed away, then my wife's grandfather passed away, then her grandmother had to be moved into an assisted living facility, and then you have Holy Week (which is always busy for pastors). Then, in addition to all of those things, a friend of mine passed away unexpectedly on Good Friday. I just haven't had a chance to catch my breath!

Thankfully, God's grace has been sufficient to withstand all of this, and I know that I will be reunited with them again.

Needless to say, this series of unfortunate events have conspired to prevent me from pursuing ANY of my avocational interests. However, things are beginning to return to normal.

Give me a couple of days to get everything sorted, and we'll be back in business. Sorry for the confusion!

Sorry to hear erunion. I thought you may have been having a rough time but that takes the cake! I wasn't meaning to rush you in anyway my intentions were to just keep the thread alive until you're ready to return.

Indeed- bad news doesn't come in threes, it comes in fives and sixes! What a month you've had. Hope you're managing to cope with it all. I know these things which all happen at once can really impact on the stress levels.

Wishing you all the best, anyway.

I've been quite good this month- bought a few bits and pieces but also done a fair bit of painting too, thanks to the GBHL tournament I had scheduled
So, i have painted:

7 Uruk Berserkers
8 Uruk Crossbowmen
An Uruk Captain
An Uruk Shaman.
Grima on foot
Saruman on foot

Before the end of the month I hope to have painted Saruman mounted too (for the painting comp).

Also, I have started, but not finished,
5 Uruk Berserkers,
12 Feral Uruk
Vrasku

I took the above to the Desolation of Stockport tournament, rather disappointed i didn't get them all fully painted. On the first weekend of May I have a tournament in Mansfield (1000pts- eep!) and am taking them, along with the plethora of armoured Uruks I painted in January. Long story short, I hope to get them /mostly/ finished before the tournament, but it probably won't be by the end of the month.

So, buying:
Gandalf the Grey on cart.
Grima (for a horse conversion).
Sharkey (hurrah!).
A box of Fell Wargs.

Backlog Reduction Oath - April 2014

Purchased
    Nothin'

Total:0pts

Painted
16 "Northmen mercenaries" (warriors of Rohan) 16pts
2 Northman Mercenary Captains (a sort of gently converted Aragorn and Theoden) 2pts
1 Escape from Goblin Town Radagast 1pt*

* Though man I really spent some time on him. This month was exam and final paper month and me being burned out month, so the actual progress was generally slow. The mercenaries didn't turn out amazingly. I really need new paintbrushes, which I shall purchase at the weekend. Also, a long list of paints. Humph.

total: 19pts

Not a bad month, all told, though. Next month, time to get more Dwarves done.

I was on a huge roll with Uruk-hai this month! Their uniformity and relatively few colours allowed me to paint a veritable legion of Saruman's foul creations!

Backlog Reduction Oath Monthly Report

Miniatures Bought:
1 box of Dwarf Warriors (12)
Uruk-hai Commanders (4)
Tauriel (1)
1 blister of Gundabad spearmen (3)
6 Khazad Guard (6)

26 points in total

Miniatures Painted:
Lurtz (1)
2 Uruk Captains (2)
2 Uruk Banners (2)
1 Uruk Shaman (1)
24 Mordor/ Isengard Orcs (24)
5 metal Morannon Orcs (5)
22 Uruk Scouts (22)
55 Fighting Uruk-hai (55)
2 Berzerkers (2)
2 Warg Riders (4)

For a grand total of 118 points! :D

The down side of this is that I still have 20 plastic Uruks, a few metal Scouts and around 12 Crossbowmen left to paint and absolutely NO desire to put a paintbrush to an Uruk-hai for the next several eternities! :o

I feel I havent done too badly on the painting front this month. However a splurge of purchases has sent me backwards.

Backlog Reduction Oath Monthly Report

Miniatures Bought:
12 Warriors of Erebor
6 Grimhammers
6 Khazad Guard
Balin and Dain (since sold on)
4 High Elf Spearmen
Witch King on Fell Beast
Durin and Mardin
Orc Siege Bow
Khandish King in Chariot
5 Khandish Horsemen
Erkenbrand (F+M)
Dwarf Kings Champion

About 60pts. I am not sure how to count the Chariot and the Witch King.

(All of this when I am supposted to be focusing on Fallen Realms stuff.)

Miniatures Painted:
Golden King of Abrakhan
9 Merchant Guard
Suladan (F+M)
2 Mirkwood Spiders
Glorfindel (F+M)

22 Pts I think.

So, time for a bit more self discipline.
