Ok, so I wanted to buy this thing forever and try it out for fun. My buddy usually plays wood Elves with Thranduil and mirkwood jerks.

So, I was thinking to demolish his aura of dismay and natures wrath, this is the perfect piece in the whole game.

But rules rules rules....first off....lets say he already has aura of dismay on....can the watcher use his tentacle rule to strike him and bring him base to base or any elves who cause terror without issue? I would assume so.

Furthermore, has anyone ever seen it, and how was it used? Id plan to take it probably with nothing but Goblin captains and goblin warriors because of its enormous pt cost.....

Well I have used it multiple times. Love the model and the use in game. First off yes he can shoot at a terrifying enemy and drag them in without a test as he's not charging.

He works well with Goblin Shamen as that simply keeps your Goblins around longer to just let him do whatever he wants. He's an absolute beast! Combat juggernaut. When you use him think about his bodyguard abilities. He can fire into combat and drag enemies (or friendlies) out of combat to protect
Your heroes (army leader etc)

Sure. The Watcher may fire his tentacles into combat as they are a ranged combat attack (and he is an evil model) then you have to randomize who is hit by the shot. Once you roll to wound as usual, if you fall to wound the Watcher may drag the hit model into base contact. This is stated in his rules, So if you hit your own model by firing into combat you can pull a friendly model out of combat

I never even thought about that. I thought you specifically target them and was wondering how that was allowed haha. Cool idea. Pull a shaman out of trouble or something...

That's exactly what I did. In a 350 Point battle (which I wrote up a report on here on the OR) My leader was a Goblin Shaman who got into some trouble. So the Watcher fired into combat, hit the shaman but didn't kill him and so he pulled him safely into base contact with the Watcher lol (the only time you'll ever hear those words together)

The watcher ignores ITW so you cannot pull your own models out of combat.

Can anyone else also confirm this? I've just started using the Watcher and if this is the case, then it really improves his usefulness! So far i'd been using it as described above, randomising for my own units, which occasionally does more harm than good.

Also, apologies to tag onto someone else's topic, but the rules regarding being dragged by the shortest route/doesn't move if not enough space, aren't super clear. If I were to drag a unit in, but there are say, two units already in combat blocking the shortest route (but the rest of the area clear), would the third unit be unable to be dragged, or could it just be placed alongside the 2 others?

I cant say for sure but based off of what I read about the way the Mumak and other rules work, id say the shortest route is just alongside them somewhere......i dont see why you wouldnt be able to.

Just like the mumak, if you finish your charge on people, you just put them somewhere along his base and with the guys coming down from rappelling lines they also are places alone his base.

SD is right. For some reason I had read it as he ignores everything between him and the combat but not the combat itself
