I have a question about transfix and could not find any threads which answered my question – sorry if it’s got an obvious answer
In one game at ToS Faramir had charged a captain on foot but was then transfixed by a Ringwraith, as I charged I wasn’t sure what happened to the additional attack for charging
Does it not count at all, is it added to the number of attacks and the halved or is it counted separately (base attacks halved and then add the charge attack)
At TOS is was moot because my opponent rolled a 6 and won on fight but would be good to know for future reference

I don't have my books to hand (damn work) but I believe the wording is that a charging model gains an extra attack. I would then say that Faramir adds 1 to his total number of attacks, as he's Immobilised he has 1 attack (he's 2 base right?) and then he adds another one for charging for a total of 2 attacks. If he wins he will knockdown the opponent but can't strike. It's the same logic that means an Immobilises Boromir shields with 4 attacks (3 attacks base, halved for Immobilsing = 2 doubled for shielding = 4) rather than 3 (3 attacks base doubled for shielding = 6 halved for Immobilising = 3).
I think!

Cool, we played it like that - halving the base attacks and adding the extra one but wanted to see if there was an official rule.
Never considered the shielding being halved base and then doubled but makes sense

Interesting thought. I think that is how I usually play it. The only other example I can find is heroic strike. The +D6 is added first then it is halved/ reduced.

Isn't this a simple order of operation? The bonus gets applied at the fight phase as a result of the movement phase. While the spell takes place immediately.
That to say I agree with Dr Grant on how to play it
