Nicely done, I like the colours you've used on him and that whip looks cracking (sorry couldn't resist).

Thanks for the encouragement you all. I've really begun to play around with gemstones a lot and really enjoy experimenting with them

@Sithious- thank you. I've been shifting to a more reserved color palette than my previous Haradrim

Thank you. I want to do a little more to make the dirt on his cloak look better. I was debating: should i paint the pant legs a little at the lowest parts to make them look dirty too? Or not

I don't think you need to do so, if anything you could add a little shading to the creases of the trousers.

Merry looks really good! :) Maybe make the highlight on his green coat just a little less bright?

Merry was good. But then I saw your taskmaster. It's stunning. It really took my breath away.

Thank you all for the kind feedback. Really motivates me to get painting!
@Amarthadan I will knock that green down a hair.

@Gandlaf I will indeed pass then on dirtying the legs of Merry's pants. And I'll touch up the deepest folds a bit more. And add a hair more to the vest as the shading is hard to see in the photograph.

He looks great. I can see what G was saying about the shading but in the first pick it looks solid. some of your work may be muted by the lighting for the pictures (try a light box or outdoors maybe?). I don't think going a darker to help the contrast would hurt too much though, but it only needs a little if any.

A long bit since an update, but my painting has been a bit slow as of late (unfortunately), but here is my first completed Abrakhan Guard, I think he turned out quite well. The Jewels have a bit more shine in person thanks to the gloss I applied to them. Hope you all enjoy.

Also please check out and like my commission facebook page (link below), and there you can view my first commission work for Miniwargaming's Matt. Although they look a bit brighter and all as the sun's light eradicated some of the textured look to their carapaces

How did you do the broken mud on the top of the base?

No worries, I've found out :-)

Good looking Abrakhan Guard! I'm also doing Harad bases with Agrellan Earth but have not found the right rim colour yet, which do you use?

Nice work on the guard. Favourites are the jewels and the cracked earth base.

I used Steel Legion Drab, its very close only a little darker than Agrellan Earth

I love Merry. He has a certain "bring it bitch" look.
