Can the Dryads from Warhammer be used as mini Ents? What about the ancient Treeman from Warhammer would these work well as regular ents they have some good looking qualities as an ent but they may be a bit to stylised for my liking.

Has anyone use these miniatures for LotR before? Did you need to make much modifications for them to fit in with the current Ents?

What about scale? Can someone please post a picture of the Dryads and Teeman figures next to a regular man sized figure and a Ent or Treebeard if possible.

I believe the scale between ents and treemen is a bit out. However I have used Dyrads as 'mini-ents' or rather Huorns which are the moving trees that ents control/herd. I used a slightly modified half-troll stat line to bring them more into line with an ent and not troll.

Got some scale shots of a Dryad with some other figs from a while back:

Don't have the latest Treeman (nor any of the old ones for that matter, though I did use Treebeard as one at some point :P), but he's probably very big.

Looks good for scale. Thanks for the help. Are There much spare bits that come with the dryads that can be used to bulk up the Ents branches?

Tis been a good while since I worked on the Dryads, but I reckon there are roughly twice as many arms in the box as you'll require for the Dryads, and probably some 50% more 'backbranches' than there are models in the kit.
You'll need a fair few extras to 'flesh out' a big Ent, but a single box should provide enough for at least one I suppose.

I think the latest Treeman is about one-and-a-half times as large as Treebeard by the way, as the former is described as being 6" tall, while good ol' Treebeard only is 4".

The dryads are an excellent substitution for Huorns. I really hate the new Wood Elf "tree avatar" model, or whatever it really is. It just looks like a fantasy Avatar of Khaine to me.

However, using Dryad extras and greenstuff to make another Ent would work really well I think.

What about this old Treeman looks way more LOTRish. And more like Treebeard.

How does this size compare to other miniatures. I imagine it is about the size as Treebeard.

Nice, I would be fine using that as a LOTR ent.
