They look really excellent! How will you base them?

I plan to base them with stone as if in Dale, this will be broken, rubble strewn, and some over growth. Most likely card for stones, some sand and rock over that, and then sparingly use flock and shrub. I am anxious to try making some flowers but not sure how that will look on an orc base.

Edit
Based pic.

They all look fantastic! I didn't really like the look of the models when they first came out, but now I love them! Excellent work!

Nice basing, not seen many done like that before. Really makes them look like Orc invaders.

Thanks everyone. I decided to make a movement tray to go with them. Even if I don't play WotR anymore, this method is easier for grabbing models for games and keeping the handling down, finecast especially so. Just foamcore for the tray with card on the edges. Simple and cheap.
34 more to paint.

They're looking great. You've really nailed the rusty battlworn armour look. And the best compliment I can give- nobody would be able to tell they were conversions. I bet you'll get asked if you managed to source some unreleased poses somehow!

Nice work Sith, they look great. If anything I think a final highlight on the extreme bits of armour would help it pop a little more.

Thanks.

Now that it has been mentioned. I think I forgot to go back with Mithril on the last two.

OMG, look what I've missed all this time, while on vacation.
So many conversions...
And now they're painted also. I find excellent your choice for the bases, however, I feel that they should be somehow "richer", not really sure how to express it better right now, but definitely on the absolutely appropriate direction.

nice, the conversions look brilliant painted up, the different helmet designs really make them stand out. How many to go?

Absolutely marvellous work! That is a lot of conversion effort but I am sure it will all look amazing when the entire force gathers on the battlefield.

Thanks everyone. These sculpts are fairly basic and easy to manipulate into a variation. I hope that, just like Uruk Scouts and Morannon orcs, Easterlings, and others, that they make a plastic set of these orcs. Until then these will do.

I added some variation to the stones on the base in the debris with this batch, hoping this helps it out a little. This makes 8 down, 30 to go. and 4 more move trays. gloB the gundabad general is waiting for his troops.

Amazing work, i would agree that it is impossible to tell those were conversions. I really like the purple cloth, gives them a evil ''feeling'' and the rusty-dark armor gives those great sculpts the credit they deserve, that shiny silver paint theme from GW was horrible for those miniatures. I would much prefer them as the ''black guard or barad dur'' Saurons absolut elites (rather than the current tower shield ones)

In overall amazing work, amazing painting and as a total they look absolutely fearsome!

Little video walkthrough of where I am so far. Have a lot of texturing to do, but things are taking shape. Need to make watchers, access doors, the stables and blacksmith area, and whatever small details I have patience for. I like that I can fit trolls on the outer wall.

Very impressive to say the least. I bet you can't wait to paint it !!! I see hand cramp on the way.
Before you get too much down the line, is it worth painting some hard to reach places now ? Like the inside of the gate on the corner of the front wall.
