Who wouldn't want to play a game on that? Looks absolutely terrific, excellent job so far.
If only I had the materials, skill, time and space required...

Gundabads look great as well, that will be a mean horde when done. Nice original basing too. Can't say I like the models, but you certainly made them look better than the standard scheme.

Thanks everyone. I bounce around projects a lot. But I do want to see Cirith Ungol finished.

Thanks, From first hand knowledge of these models, they are not great. And you know it is sad times when 38 models are a horde. Remember when 48 plastics was easy to come by for a force. I am happy I went with the Dale look for a base, I think the contrast of colors with the army helps too.

Very impressive to say the least. I bet you can't wait to paint it !!! I see hand cramp on the way.
Before you get too much down the line, is it worth painting some hard to reach places now ? Like the inside of the gate on the corner of the front wall.

Thanks Gandalf the Grey. No worries. The entire thing is still 5 separate pieces. I can remove the outer wall to paint it. I do see plenty of challenges ahead on the project, painting not the least of them.

Enjoyed watching that, the Tower in particular is superb even with out painting, must have taken a lot of time to get to this stage.

I was just wondering whether you have any trolls.

That's a great model of the tower of Cirith Ungol. I've got to make a fortress one of these years.

I suppose it's pretty context-dependent: in the case of finecast elite troops, these are enough to form a bit of a horde as far as I'm concerned. Had they just been moria goblins.. well, 38 is just about enough to form a subdivision of a warband, really!

You don't happen to have any troll parts left, do you? A Gundabad-themed troll (with similar shield/armour and plenty of mean edges) would complement this force very nicely...

Cirith ungol is jaw-dropping... i can only dream what it will be like to play on that..... but what a dream it is! the gate's breached, time for the trolls to sally forth! a rearguard battle all the way up the steps! swarms of black-fletched arrows sing down from the upper levels into the melee, striking down Men and Orcs alike!
i've got to get me a fortress like this!

Thanks everyone. I think this project is coming along nicely. Here is a new video, three segments showing some stages. Almost painting time.

Also churned out these Gundabad orcs.
Image
Looks like a stage at a rock concert. Coming to Erebor for one night only..Gundabad!!! Bringing all their hits like;
"it's not so bad to be Gundabad", "Your love is like maggoty Bread", "Hard days march", and the cover of Mordor's "Where there's a Whip there's a way."

Can't wait for Cirith to be painted.
Nothin' to say about the Gundaband band. They'll rock some grounds with their hits.

Thanks everyone for the support. I have got pretty far. Will take a mini break to paint some mini's then get some more details added here and there on this.

I will get some Still Photo's once the watchers and blacksmith area are painted up.
