Using shield and bow.

Can a model (rohan rider) which has by the book both shield and bow, choose to take the +1 bonus OR shoot with a bow for each round for example. Or is it necessairy to choose if the rider uses only his shield or only his bow fro mthe beginning of the game?

Isnt it quite foolish to have a model with the shield as decoration?.....

Please tag where in the books you found the answer cause I want to state it officially.

He gets both as he's an expert rider on his mount. See the main rulebook for that in the cavalry section I believe

Yeah, in the main rulebook p82:
"While mounted an Expert rider carrying a shield and bow still gains +1 defence bonus. If the model dismounts, he will lose the bonus for carrying a shield"
