could we see a picture of the throwing axe without all the glue? it's a great idea.

Sadly the day i finished converting them i also primed them black because i was in the hurry to finish by the end of the month and did not take another picture.

However the glue was removed 100% and from the front side you see the axe having no connection to the miniature at all. From the back side you only see a small rope attached to the axe and touching his arm. That is the wire and i will be painted as a rope.

Wow, this is genuinely cool! Man I love snowy-themed miniatures which fit the overall style (fur coats, wild beardy faces,...) very well! Amazing conversions and great paintjob! :D

Top notch stuff, I really like the winter theme! What did you use for the snow?

You are coming up with the best conversion Ideas for these "up-gradable troop options" (black dragons, Helmingas). You painting is top notch and fits the theme as well. I look forward to seeing more from you and as I said before I a stealing these ideas. :)

It's an amazingly characterful unit. The bases help a lot, that's for sure.
Although I was waiting in anticipation your final result, I was also unsure if you would deliver it nicely.
With that in mind, I just love what you've done there.
I hope you finish the lot soon.

P.S. When you come to Athens, I'd love to see them in action, apart from any painting session that we can arrange.

Truly thanks everyone for the great feedback!!! It is much more than i could have ever hoped for! Comments like these make me want work day and night to fulfill all the projects i have in mind (and they are over 30 :P )
For now i will return to rhun for a while and then finish up the rest 5 of the Helmingas (to have a full warband).

orc-archer: The snow on the bases and floor is citadel snow, on the miniatures (shoulders, clothing ect it is painted)

Advario: I am not as good as you think :) I still have tons to learn and i consider myself a beginner. However seen back to the past these Helmingas have truly pushed my limits, the result was above my expectations.

Rognarr: I always saw the rohirim fitting to a snow terrain, the original rohan theme fits very well to the norse one.

After a long time working on so many projects together i had no time to take any photos but the following days are very promising :)

I decided to upgrade my painting on my easterling warriors and here is the result. It also took plenty of time to find out how i will paint their shields to make them more ''unique''

Here is also a closer photo with my older easterlings painted a few months back to compare.

Also to excuse my lack of posting the past month here are the projects i have been working on and will be posting new photos in the following days.
3 more Helmingas poses
Westfold Redshields (converted unit)
Remake of warriors of Rohan (converted unit)
2 Brand new Easterling units (conversions) (one taken out of Tolkiens books)

Big time progress shown there on the application of colours through the comparison.
Well done!!
I shall be waiting to see the new poses and the new units.
